‘These biscuits are bare nice!’: Where the iconic viral sound on TikTok came from
Every supermarket with a biscuit aisle is locked IN
Another day, another TikTok FYP domination – and this time it’s one of my favourite British sounds in forever. It’s actually addictive as an audio, somehow – even though it contains infamously the worst accent in the country. I am of course talking about “These biscuits are so nice, these biscuits are bare nice ya know” which has dominated my For You Page on TikTok like no tomorrow since it emerged on the scene this past week. Now that every supermarket in the country with a biscuit aisle is going viral with it, here’s all you need to know about the origins of the TikTok biscuits are so nice sound and why it’s taken over British TikTok.
Funnily enough, it’s actually a TikTok original

Although the TikTok “these biscuits are so nice” sound feels so full of character you might think it’s from a sketch show or something, it literally just started on the app itself. Someone describes it as a year nine East London accent which has honestly just really stuck with me.
It’s been framed as a voice reveal by a 17 year old creator, although she did end up doing a follow up using another hilarious sound by Bradley Love – one of the funniest accounts on the entire app. The implication here is of course, if it wasn’t obvious, that the viral sound is a fake voice.

To my expert eyes, I’d say the biscuits that are indeed so nice look like the McVitities gold blonde digestives. Fair play.

To be fair, the M&S cookies actually ARE the best ever biscuits to cross my lips. So Julie, this is completely justified.
A lot of chat about how it’s the back of the bus accent, I know you know.
