Four-minute dive to banana peel skincare: *That* influencer’s unhinged morning routine, explained

I’ve seen this guy’s nipples more than my family – thanks Twitter

By now you’ve undoubtedly been assaulted by video after video of Ashton Hall’s unhinged morning routine that is currently doing insane numbers on Twitter, TikTok, and Reddit.

As completely functioning adults – or at least pretending to be – we know that a solid morning routine is the difference between a good week and total oblivion. If you miss that first Monday morning alarm the entire week is a right off. Of course, some people (men) like to take things to the extreme, ignoring actual medical advice about getting eight hours of sleep a night for gimmicky habits and bizarre montage videos.

Enter Ashton Hall, a fitness bro and so-called “entrepreneur” whose content primarily centres around being the best possible man you can be. Yawn. He went viral last week for a video initially taken in February, and though they do say there’s no such thing as bad publicity, Ashton is gaining likes and followers for all the wrong reasons.

Ashton Hall’s morning routine video has racked up millions of views

Back in February, Ashton posted a video that detailed his morning routine alongside the Instagram caption: “Day 191 of the morning routine that changed my life. 3:50 am to 9:30 am. Sin lives late at night.. if you’re dealing with a weak mind, bad decisions, or lack of productivity go to sleep early.

“4:00 am – 8:00 am no one’s calling or distracting your productivity.. they are sleep. 8:00 pm – 12:00 am is the opposite. Just try 30 days… send this to your partners. It’s time to do better.”

Ashton’s morning routine starts at 3:53 am when he takes off his mouth tape and brushes his teeth – quite normal so far, right? He then swills his mouth with Saratoga bottled water which retails for around £8 a bottle!

By 4:00 am he’s outside on the balcony doing pushups for 13 minutes, followed by a cheeky two minutes of mindful meditation and around 5 minutes of journalling. Ironically, any the end of his journalling activity he’s still on the second line of the first page. Ashton then dunks his face in an ice-cold bowl of that Saratoga water from earlier for around 10 minutes.

Come 6:00 am, Ashton is dressed in his workout clothes (nipples finally covered, thank god), but he felt the need to timestamp literally every item of clothing he put on which did include a Rolex watch and a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet. Apparently, it takes him 20 minutes to put on his most expensive jewellery for a run on the treadmill.

Ashton works out for just under an hour before heading up to the roof for 11 minutes in the pool and 10 minutes in what looked to be a cold bath. Some choppy editing also suggests that he was mid-dive for four minutes and I’m just not sure that’s humanly possible.

By 8:30 am he’s in the shower and doing his standard skincare routine which looks to be just rubbing a banana peel on his face for five minutes. Finally, we have one final face dunk in an ice-cold bath – this time will suited and booted – before getting on with his actual work.

The funniest moment of the unhinged morning routine is in the final few moments. It shows a woman making him breakfast, you know, the only part of his morning which should actually be part of his routine.

My guy got up at 4:00 am to do basically nothing for close to five hours.

People are ripping it to shreds

Ashton Hall’s morning routine video has amassed over 6 million likes on Instagram alone, but after finding its way to Twitter, people are ripping it apart with their own cringy renditions and hilarious memes.

“Imagine waking up at 3:53 am only to get nothing done but workout and show up and start work at 9:15 am. These morning routine videos are getting ridiculous,” one person said.

Another wrote: “The worst part of that guy’s morning routine is the fact that he’s awake for a literal 5 hours before he starts work and he still needs a woman to make breakfast for him lol.”

Someone else joked: “Every single one of these weird male morning routines screams American Psycho.”

The best part of the internet chaos has undoubtedly been the memes, so here are the best:

It’s literally everywhere, can’t escape

Right?! Oh to be a content creator

Not the Wendy crossover

This one’s got some serious aura, take notes Ashton
