Flight attendant reveals three stupid things influencers do on planes that are so dangerous

She said they’re the most annoying passengers

There’s one group of people who are particularly annoying for flight attendants, and it’s not kids or drunk people – it’s influencers.

Skye Taylor, who flew with Virgin Atlantic for 16 years, spoke to the Daily Express and revealed influencers often do things that are actually really dangerous.

They’re always looking to get their next cool Instagram pic or TikTok video, completely unaware of the consequences that some of their actions can have.

Here are three things she’s seen influencers do that raise really serious safety concerns.

Putting babies on the floor

The first wild thing influencers do is put their babies on the floor when they go to sleep, then post a picture of it online.

“The amount of people that show their babies sleeping on the floor is absolutely crazy,” she said. “It is like, you certainly wouldn’t go and put your child in the footwell of a car.”

“Why would you put them on the floor of an aircraft that could potentially drop 10,000ft within minutes and your child is laying on the floor under metal?”

She said influencers need to use their “common sense” and be a lot more “safety aware” when travelling with their kids on planes.

Taking pics near plane engines

Another thing she sees influencers do all the time is walk across the tarmac and stand dangerously close to plane engines to take a cool Instagram pic.

You might see flight attendants posting snazzy pictures on social media standing right next to a plane, but that doesn’t mean anyone can do it.

The lines on the floor that show where you can walk are there for a reason, and the engines can be super dangerous if you get to close.

Writing on bathroom mirrors

Finally, the flight attendant has also seen pictures and TikTok videos of people writing on the bathroom mirror then taking a selfie with it.

“I get that normal people wouldn’t understand that, but there have been quite a lot of occasions in terrorist attacks where writing on a bathroom mirror was quite a horrible thing,” she said.

In April 2010, a Continental Express flight from Houston to Washington was actually diverted because a passenger wrote the word “bomb” on a bathroom mirror.

No explosives were found on the plane, but it was a real safety concern and the whole flight had to be grounded because of it.
