
QS World Rankings 2025: King’s College London ranks number one globally for this subject
King’s stays on top!
QS World University Ranking by Subject has officially released it’s ratings for 2025 and King’s College London takes the number one spot for one subject and several other spots in the top 20.
Subjects that scored in the top 20 are as follows:
- Dentistry – fourth
- Classics and Ancient History – 13th
- Politics – 12th
- Geography – 14th
- Medicine – 15th
- English Language and Literature – 16th
- Communication and Media Studies – 18th
- Psychology – 18th
- Law and Legal Studies – 19th
However, if you’re a nursing student, you’ve struck gold as King’s College London is officially number one in the world to study nursing.
The 2025 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject features 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas: Natural Sciences, Life Sciences and Medicine, Engineering and Tech, Arts and Humanities, and Social Sciences and Management.
The 2025 rankings are the biggest yet, with 171 institutions included this year who were not present in the 2024 edition. King’s, of course, is included.
Overall, King’s is ranked at number 46 in the world, with an overall score of 79.5.
This score is made up of an average by other important scorings: Employer Reputation (76.5), Academic Reputation (79.2), and International Research Network (81.3).
In the UK, King’s is the fifth best institution to study subjects of the Arts and Humanities in the UK. Similarly, Life Sciences and Medicine at King’s also takes fifth place in the UK.
For Engineering and Technology, King’s is tied with the University of Bristol at ninth place.
Social Sciences and Management also takes ninth place, whilst studying Natural Sciences at King’s takes the 10th spot.
