Walton Goggins just explained that major reveal for his The White Lotus character
This makes so much sense now
Walton Goggins is having a moment. He’s had quite the few years, and he absolutely devoured his role in Fallout last year and now I feel like since he got cast in season three of The White Lotus you can barely have a scroll of Twitter without being fronted by him. And I absolutely love it, to be fair. What an era for the culture to be in. In this year’s season of The White Lotus, Walton Goggins has played a very mysterious role with Rick and one of the main talking points of the series is why on earth he’s actually at the hotel in Thailand with his much younger girlfriend, played by Aimee Lou Wood. Here’s what Walton Goggins just explained about his character’s big reveal in The White Lotus as he sheds more light on the mystery.
Spoiler alert for the latest episode of The White Lotus!
In the most recent episode of The White Lotus, Mike White gifted us all the reveal finally that Rick is at the hotel because the owner killed his father. He is on a revenge quest. This is MY Kill Bill. However, the guy who did it isn’t even at the hotel right now which is going to cause Rick some qualms on his vengeance endeavour. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Walton Goggins explained a bit more about The White Lotus reveal and what will happen to his character going forward.

“His reasons for being here at this resort were clearer than anyone else’s right out of the gate, but they’re the last to be revealed, and the pain that he’s carrying into this experience that is unexplained and this behavior and this asshole-esque quality that he has, there’s a reason for all of it,” Goggins explained.
“Once that reason is revealed, once it’s revealed that this guy who has been running from his past, his whole life, existing on the fringes of society, doing nefarious things to make a pretty good living, someone who is as bitter as him, who is as angry as him, who is as lost as him — once their motivations for being there become crystallised?
“Then it’s about a lot of things, man, that a lot of people can relate to. It’s about consequences. It’s about justice. It’s about the lack of forgiveness. It is about the un-evolved self. What Mike White is saying through this particular character’s journey has something very important to teach. I hope if we’ve done our job right, it will resonate with the rest of us.”
He also said on the upcoming final episodes “You’re going to be very surprised where it ends. Everybody has their own destination that they get to in the show, and it all is so personal for all of us and everybody showed up and just did the best job that they could do. They didn’t want to let Mike down and they didn’t want to let each other down, and I’m just so grateful I had the chance to do it.”
Give it to me NOW, I simply cannot wait a week.
