Love is Blind’s Sara reveals crucial context to Ben’s TikTok allegations that we are missing

Apparently we only saw part of the picture

Ben Mezzenga and Sara Carton are *currently* together in Love Is Blind, but with issues surrounding political beliefs and the looming TikTok allegations, it’s yet to be seen whether their relationship will weather the storm.

Ben is shaping up to be one of the more controversial hopefuls in season eight of Love Is Blind, in part due to the allegations of mistreating women put forward by influencer Andra Berghoff and other women. There’s also allegedly handing out YouTube business cards to potential love interests, but that’s another topic entirely.

When it came up during a later episode, Ben passionately defended himself while claiming, “She’s already making stuff up. She was like, how I manipulated and did all these different things.”

The drama is expected to continue with the newest episodes later this week, but now Sara has shed light on what wasn’t shown during the tense scenes.

Sara revealed how Ben’s TikTok allegations were shown in Love Is Blind

During episode nine Sara seemed to stumble upon the troubling accusations that have since spread to all corners of the internet. Ben did not deny that he was the man in question, but the scene felt clunky like we were missing part of the story.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the moment, Sara said she discovered the TikTok allegations when meeting Ben’s friends who some have claimed he hired to make his friendship group more diverse. Said friends have denied being hired.

“What happened was, we were at a brewery with his friends, and so I left to give them time to talk with one another,” she said. “I was outside with my assistant producer and I was on my phone. I was scrolling, and then I received that TikTok in the Love Is Blind girls’ group chat. They’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is about Ben.'”

Though the videos never explicitly named Ben, Sara noticed “hundreds” of comments connecting her fiance to the allegations and felt she “needed to hear his side of the story.”

Sara then told the publication that the conversation played out much differently from what we saw on the Netflix show, which should not be surprising because Lauren O’Brien already called out the editing.

Sara explained: “I showed him the TikTok at the brewery first, and that’s when my assistant producer, of course, told my producer about the situation, so then they split us apart.

“We had to go back to the apartment and then film us talking about the TikTok, so that actually wasn’t his first time seeing it, it wasn’t my first time seeing it. And then when we were on the couch, that’s when we noticed there was a second TikTok made talking about how he blocked her, and so that told me, ‘Okay, this is actually about Ben.’ That was hard.”

But did Sara believe Ben’s story? Not really.

She said she was “sceptical the whole time” but felt the need to trust him because it wasn’t fair to “end the relationship just because of this one thing when we were so happy.”

Do we think Sara and Ben are gonna split before the wedding?
