Sara from Love Is Blind exposes real reason she got engaged to Ben despite his political views
‘I went into proposal day actually not sure if I was going to say yes or no’
Sara is the biggest glowing green flag on Love Is Blind this season. However, she chose to get engaged with a man who stood for everything she was against. Ben told Sara he didn’t vote in the last election, didn’t know much about George Floyd and referred to the LGBTQ+ community as “that group.” She made it clear to him she couldn’t teach someone “fundamental values” and it looked like it was going to be a deal breaker for her, yet she accepted his proposal anyway. However, Sara has spoken about the real reason she got engaged to Ben on season eight of Love Is Blind, and it actually makes sense.
Sara explained that the viewers were missing a LOT of conversations that went down between them. “I do want to emphasize there are so many hours that we talked, like 20-30 hours total, maybe even more,” Sara told Entertainment Weekly. “But of course, they’re very intentional with what they show, and I’m glad that they showed the conversations that we had.”
She also said that the show didn’t happen in chronological order, so there were a lot more conversations between *that* political conversation and their actual engagement.
“I went into proposal day actually not sure if I was going to say yes or no, because I wanted reassurance that these things would be something important for him to continue thinking about or talking about with me,” She said. “And so I went in there expressing that, saying I don’t want to be your teacher, I want it to all come from internal motivation, I don’t want you to do it for me, I want you to do it for you and for us and for everyone around us.”

Sara said she didn’t need Ben’s views to perfectly align with hers
“I understand everyone is on their own different wavelength. Everyone’s on kind of their own different path. I do believe people can evolve and grow. And also I want to learn too. I want to have those conversations, see different perspectives. I want to just be able to have the conversations of talking about things that are happening in the world around us,” she said.
When she was asked if he voted in the November 2024 election, she said she didn’t know and hadn’t asked him. Does that mean they’re not together? Hmm…
