An iconic person inspired Charlotte to put on that fake Welsh accent for The Traitors

Hint: It’s an old contestant

Charlotte has quickly gone from being one of the quietest faithfuls in The Traitors to a brutal villain determined to win the show and take home the cash.

She savagely took down Minah and Freddie and is the last traitor standing, but Frankie could be about to ruin her plan as the “Seer”.

The traitor has been lying right from the start as she’s putting on a fake Welsh accent, and guess who inspired her to do it? Amanda!

The Welsh contestant from The Traitors series one has revealed that she was the inspiration behind the whole act.

Speaking on Celebrity Skin Talk, she said: “She’s playing it very well, and she voice noted me saying I inspired her to have her fake Welsh accent, which was very sweet.”

Amanda was a traitor who breezed through initially, with no one suspecting her at all, but was later betrayed by her fellow traitor Wilf.

The old contestant said Charlotte’s “doing a great job doing it [the accent] until the end” – but keeping up the facade was actually really hard and exhausting for her.

She told the MailOnline: “I have learned that if I ever do another TV show, I probably, most definitely, won’t do it with a fake Welsh accent.”

“It has been exhausting, and I think I may have permanently rewired my brain. But perhaps it has paid off after all?!”

The 33-year-old business director added that behind the “chatty facade” she’s actually “quite a self doubter” so she’s super proud of herself.

“I’ve built genuine relationships with the other players and been able to show people my true self – even within a game of deception.”

She added that she’s “proud of her resilience” while defending herself at the round table and said: “I really tried to play the game in its truest sense.”
