Right: Did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom actually unfollow each other or nah?

In one of the wildest pieces of celebrity news to wake up to, I saw murmurs and mumbles on Twitter that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom had unfollowed each other on Instagram. “This is my 9/11”, stan accounts cried: and I had to honestly sort of agree with them. Like many, I have been very critical of Katy Perry’s blunders over the past year and the one thing throughout all the utter disaster of her latest album 143 that’s been consistent has been her solid marriage with Orlando Bloom. Okay, she got another wow in that ITV special which, fair play, she devoured – and even in that Orlando Bloom was right there supporting Katy Perry with his full chest. All smiles. So did Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry actually unfollow each other on Instagram last night, or is this unfollowed saga just Twitter nonsense!

This obviously was a bit of an epidemic for anyone remotely interested in their love lives – which if you’re a KatyCat or just someone who spends longer than they actually should having a gentle peruse of PopCrave is a fair amount of people. Several hours later, though, they were following each other again.

So, what went on? Did the two of them have a spat and then kiss and makeup?

Thankfully the answer is far less boring and the two of them as far as we know are continuing to go from strength to strength. It’s been reported that the unfollowing saga was just because of an Instagram bug. The two of them probably didn’t even know it happened, and the other rumours online are just that: Rumours.

To be fair, this was clearly the most likely outcome after Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey had a similar debacle earlier in the week when it appeared he’d unfollowed her too. Instagram has also faced a load of complaints regarding the transfer of official POTUS and White House social media accounts as Donald Trump’s government took power – including Meta confirming that a bug has meant some can not unfollow Trump currently.

In any case, if Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom had briefly unfollowed each other last night, it’s no longer the current sitch.
