Wicked has finally arrived in cinemas and Ariana and Cynthia are literally perfect for Glinda and Elphaba.

We couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the lead roles, but did you know, loads more famous actors auditioned?

From Lady Gaga to Harry Styles, here are all the people who could have been in the cast instead.

Elphaba

Instead of Cynthia Erivo, the green witch could have been played by:

• Lady Gaga – The singer was set to play the role until the movie’s director changed.
• Nicole Scherzinger – She was once in talks with producers but decided against it.
• Jessie J – This one’s just a rumour, but the singer would’ve been great.

Glinda

Can you see any of these people as Glinda instead of Ariana Grande?

• Amy Adams – DC’s Lois Lane is rumoured to have auditioned.
• Amanda Seyfried – The Mean Girls actress revealed she wanted the role really badly.
• Anne Hathaway – This one’s another rumour, but the actress can actually sing.
• Katy Perry – Rumours also say the Firework singer was supposedly once in the running.
• Lilli Reinhart – She could have swapped Riverdale for Wicked.
• Dove Cameron – “I think Ariana’s gonna kill it,” the Descendants actress said after losing out.
• Reneé Rapp – The actress also said Ariana would be “f***ing amazing” after losing the role.
• Ashley Park – Mindy from Emily In Paris supposedly auditioned too.
