Explained: The full WAGs to Riches drama with Stoni and the 50 Cent sex tape leak

Within the first episode of WAGs to Riches on Netflix, cast member Stoni is talking about a leaked sex tape with her ex. Honestly, this show is the wildest thing I’ve watched in years.

The cast are all mega rich WAGs living in the Miami Beach area, and boy do they have some stories to tell. Lastonia “Stoni” Leviston is one of the main cast members, and doesn’t wait to tell the story of her biggest scandal. Her ex is rapper Rick Ross, and after the couple split, a sex tape of Stoni was leaked. The leak was apparently because of a longstanding beef Rick Ross had.

Later in the show the group are talking lawsuits, 50 Cent gets involved and it’s all a little bit wild. So here’s a full rundown of what went down.

So, what happened with WAGs to Riches star Stoni and her sex tape?

On WAGs to Riches, Stoni opened up a lot about the sex tape involving her which was leaked in the past. She said the tape was with someone who she dated after she was with Rick Ross, but it’s now caused a divide in their relationship. Stoni said videoing herself having sex wasn’t something she had done before, but she did it to “show a man I loved him.”

“So things happened that Rick isn’t so happy about. The sex tape,” she explained on the show. “I was dating this guy a long, long time ago – after I ended my relationship with Rick Ross. He was into videotaping me and he didn’t even really ask. He would just pull it out. Never once in my brain did I think I would have sex with him on tape. I didn’t feel unsafe at the time. I felt like I was happy.”

Stoni then explained: “I did the tape. Things got rocky, he started cheating and I outed him to the other girl. He got upset about it. We broke up. In the height of the breakup, the beef started between Rick and 50 Cent.”

50 Cent then got involved as it was alleged Stoni’s former boyfriend gave him the tape, and 50 Cent leaked it to “taunt” rival Rick Ross. “Long story short, my ex, the guy that was in the sex tape, he’s bitter. So he actually goes and sells the tape to 50 Cent,” Stoni said.

The apparent sex tape was reportedly 13-minutes long, and featured 50 Cent narrating it.

Did Stoni successfully sue 50 Cent?

During WAGs to Riches, the women discuss how Stoni later sued 50 Cent. This is true, and yes, her lawsuit was successful. It’s been reported she originally sought $15million in damages for the tape being leaked.

However, in 2015, a jury ordered 50 Cent pay $5million to Stoni after allegedly acquiring the video from her ex. “This was something done to me,” she testified at the time. “I didn’t have a choice. I would never, ever do this to myself.”

The lawsuit is said to have forced 50 Cent to file for bankruptcy, as reported by The Wall Street Journal at the time.
