Inside the wild Pixar theory that proves these major characters are actually the same
Apparently Toy Story, Bugs Life, Turning Red, Inside Out, and Monster’s Inc are all connected
Disney adults are terrifying in every sense, so you wouldn’t be blamed for not believing a word that comes out of their mouthes.
But Disney fans have previously discovered the Pixar theory, which essentially explains how some characters from Disney films are linked. And one viewer shared this theory about Andy’s mum from Toy Story that is actually really convincing.
The Toy Story franchise is an old favourite, and one person, Asheley, worked out that Andy’s mum was actually another popular Pixar movie and the evidence is just too good to ignore.
Not only that, she discovered massive links between Toy Story, Bugs Life, Turning Red, Inside Out, and Monster’s Inc, proving that they all seem to belong in the same universe.
Posting a video to Instagram, Asheley explained how it took her “24 years to realise Riley from Inside Out is actually Andy’s mum” in Toy Story.
Posting a video of the evidence, Asheley shared clips of both Riley and Andy’s mum, where they have identical features. Whilst some Disney characters might look alike, they both have fair hair and blue eyes, and even their bone structures are eerily similar.
If you’re still not convinced, you might be weirded out to know that the theory holds up within the storylines of the characters as well. Asheley shows a scene from Inside Out where Joy pulls up a little happy memory orb from Riley which shows her going down a slide as a toddler.
Comparing the playground in Toy Story, Asheley revealed that it’s the exact same slide set.

If that’s not enough evidence to convince you that the Pixar movies are linked, the crossovers between Monster’s Inc and Inside Out are too big to ignore.
Asheley spotted Boo from Monster’s Inc in a blurred poster in Inside Out, stuck up on Riley’s wall and which appears to match the boyband group from Turning Red.
We also spot a character in Turning Red who could be an older version of Boo, due to her similar features and purple outfit.
Asheley also refers back to a scene in Toy Story where one of the children in the nursery looks like Boo also.
The hidden theory blew a lot of people’s minds, with a lot of people in shock that they never realised it themselves. One commented on Asheley’s video: “NO WAY THATS CRAZY.”
Another, in disbelief, wrote: “yo WHAT”.
But others suggested that the similarities were simply due to Disney taking shortcuts and reusing animations to save time.
One person commented: “Or maybe, hear me out … Disney wanted to take shortcuts and reused assets?”
Even if the facial similarities were just a time saving tactic, maybe the Disney adults are onto something for once here. The poster and slide set is pretty hard evidence that the Pixar movies linked and that the characters exist in the same worlds.
