Squid Game creator reveals exciting details about who the spinoffs might revolve around

If you feel the impending sadness that the third and final season of Squid Game is coming later this year then fear not, because there are going to be plenty of spinoffs heading our way!
Yep, that’s right – the main story of Squid Game might be wrapped up next season but the spinoffs will allow for a lot of some of the other side characters to get an expanded story.

Creator Dong-hyuk has explained more about what it would take for him to return to the world of Squid Game, telling The Hollywood Reporter: “If I ever wanted to go back to the world of Squid Game, it would be about different characters with a different story arc. Some kind of spinoff, maybe.”
As for what exactly that spinoff or spinoffs would contain include a more focused insight on the lives of the masked guards as well as what happened in the gap between season one and two.
He revealed: “For example, the masked guards. How did they end up here? What do they do in their downtime?” he posited. “Something like that, maybe.”

He elaborated on another idea he’s thinking about trying for the Squid Game spinoffs, explaining: “One of the ideas I’m tossing around is what happened between season one and two. There’s a three-year gap.
So, for example, what was the Front Man doing during those three years?
What was the Recruiter doing? When I have some downtime, I like to just toss some ideas around and go wild with my imagination. So I guess we can be open to anything.”
