Debunked: Is Leonardo DiCaprio really appearing in Squid Game season three?!
Is he going to be the next Player 001?
Squid Game is host to a lot of famous faces who have already featured in huge TV shows and films, and according to rumours, it seems Leonardo DiCaprio might be joining the cast for season 3 of the Netflix show?! Clearly, he heard about season two having a younger cast of twenty year olds and saw his chance immediately…
But is there actually any truth to these insane rumours and how exactly did it even start in the first place? Well, let’s find out together because I need to know with every fibre of my being whether Leonardo DiCaprio is actually going to appear in season three of Squid Game or not.
Rumours first started from a Korean news outlet called OSEN which reported on January 1st that Leonardo would be appearing in season three of the hit show.
The exclusive report claimed: “Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio will be appearing in the Netflix mega hit Squid Game three. Filming has already been completed, and he is said to make a surprise appearance in Season three, which will be released this summer.
“It is said that the amount of screen time will not be long, and the exact character, etc. are being kept under wraps due to concerns about spoilers.”
Speculation that Leonardo DiCaprio would appear in season three of Squid Game was only fuelled further when an old picture of Lee Jung-jae and Leonardo DiCaprio at the 2019 LACMA Art and Film Gala resurfaced.

However, I can sadly confirm that no, he will not be appearing in the next season of the show. Netflix was quick to shut down the rumours and released a statement saying: “The rumours are completely false. Reports of Leonardo DiCaprio’s involvement in Squid Game Season 3 are entirely unfounded.”
Well, there’s that cleared up then!
