No!! Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse gets devastating update and I simply can’t cope

We are all going to be 80 by the time it’s out

Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse has recieved a major release date news and I’m sorry to inform you that it’s not looking good for the final instalment of Miles Morales’ story.

In a rare moment indeed, Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse became a hit in 2018 with a 97 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, did equally as well with 95 per cent on the review platform.

The final instalment in the trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, was originally set for a March 2024 release, which obviously didn’t happen. Still, despite our clear frustration, most of us were willing to wait for the film’s unique art style and gripping story.

Now, on the precipice of 2025, we’ve received yet another sad update.

Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’s release date is once again up in the air

Over the weekend, when we were all tucked up in bed safe and sound, Deadline released a damning report that suggested Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’s release date is still literally YEARS away.

“They’re taking a lot of tender loving care with the next Spider-Verse animated movie, with no plans for that threequel to hit the 2025 release calendar,” the report said.

When you combine this news with the other deeply depressing statements about Beyond The Spider-Verse, it’s not looking good.

There are tons of conflicting reports out there

In September, a horrible report emerged that Sony had pushed the film back to a 2027 release, which, if my math skills are correct, is a full three years after the initial release date.

Of course, the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton then rubbished the claims which served only to confuse us more.

“Don’t really ever want to weigh in on this sort of stuff BUT would you ever believe there could sometimes be stuff on the internet that might not always be particularly accurate?” he said.

With that in mind, it suggests that Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’s release date is somewhere in 2026. Exactly when is anyone’s guess?

Have the stars even recorded their lines yet?

Karan Soni, who voices Pavitr Prabhakar in the franchise, said that he was set to start recording his lines “in a few months” time. That was in August of this year, so where are those lines at?

“That movie is deep in production. It’s animation, so it’s different and takes a long time. We’ll see when it’s ready and when it ends up coming out, but I’m really excited,” he said at the time.

Miles Morales’ voice actor Jharrel Jerome told ScreenRant just last week that he is yet to step into the recording studio for the final time.

“I haven’t, but I also can’t really say so much more because, you know, that’s such a tight-knit ship. I don’t even know much. I’m as much in the dark as you, but I’m excited to get back into it and see what they’re thinking, especially involving my character. That was such a badass twist to the last one,” he said.
