You’ll never watch I’m A Celeb the same after finding out the jungle has a ‘roof’
Wait, what?!
I’m A Celeb viewers are going crazy after finding out a massive revelation about the jungle. Firstly, it’s not actually a jungle, it’s a rainforest. But also, it has a roof?!
For some reason, viewers have always thought the entire camp was open to the elements and the campmates slept under the stars. However, that’s not true.
There is a huge canopy right over the top of the camp that has lights and cameras hidden in it. I mean, it makes sense. How else would they film the TV show?
Alison Hammond, who went into the jungle in 2010, actually spoke about it on GK Barry’s podcast Saving Grace earlier this year.
“There’s trees everywhere and also they’ve got this canopy for lighting,” she said. “You feel like you’re on a camping film set but you can’t see the cameras.”
She also said the canopy blocks out the sun, meaning the campmates can’t even sunbathe. It must be so boring in there!
However, a source told the MailOnline that “a lot of the camp is not under shelter” too, saying: “It’s not like the roof at Wimbledon.”
So, when you see those torrential thunderstorms, the celebs really are getting wet because the rain still comes in the sides.
Why is everyone surprised the I’m a celeb camp has a “roof” surely people didn’t think they’d just be out in the elements without coverings like tents etc

Ant and Dec did a hilarious demonstration of this on TikTok after someone asked what happens when the heavens open.
“They don’t cover the camp,” Ant said as Dec explained: “But there is a canopy.”
Ant used a bowl of baked beans to represent the beds and a paper plate as the canopy, showing that a lot of the camp is still exposed.

He started spooning out the beans with his fingers to show that the rain still drifts in from the side and makes the campmates wet.
@antanddec A very scientific explanation 👨🔬🫘 #JungleClub
