There’s always randomers in there, so here’s why all the I’m A Celeb 2024 cast are famous
Does Gen Z know anyone else but GK Barry?
Every year, the I’m A Celeb cast gets announced and there are at least two or three of them that I have literally never heard of before in my life. It’s such a mixed bag in there, especially with the I’m A Celeb 2024 campmates being famous for everything from TikTok stars to 1980s boxing champions.
But if you’re still sat there wondering how you’ve never heard of Melvin Odoom before, or maybe you recognise Danny’s voice fro somewhere – here’s how all of the 2024 I’m A Celeb campmates got famous.
Coleen Rooney

Starting off with one of the most controversial celebrities to enter the jungle this year, Wayne Rooney’s wife, Coleen Rooney. Although Coleen is known for being an English media personality and a WAG, many know her for the infamous Wagatha Christie court case. This scandal that began in 2019 involved Coleen and Rebekah Vardy, after Coleen accused Rebekah of selling stories from Coleen’s private Instagram. In 2022, Coleen and Rebekah went to court which made headlines and ended with the latter paying £1.5 million towards Coleen’s legal fees after losing the court case.

Oti Mabuse is known for her role as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing from 2015 to 2022. Her sister is Motsi Mabuse, who is a judge on the show. Since leaving Strictly, Oti continues to make appearances on shows like The Masked Dancer, Big Brother: Late & Live, Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live and The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer. Oti has also worked on Dancing on Ice as a judge and returned to Strictly in 2024 as a choreographer. She’s also besties with Jamie Laing – weird crossover.
Danny Jones

It saddens me that so many Gen Zers wont know who he is, but Danny Jones is the lead guitarist and vocalist for the boyband, McFly. After supporting Busted on their tour in 2004, McFly rapidly rose to fame. Danny has co-written and sung a number of successful songs that have gained lots of popularity for the group. But when he’s not pouring his heart out behind a mic, Danny is also a music producer, DJ and a coach on The Voice UK.
Alan Halsall

Alan Halsall is known for his role of Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, a role he has played since 1998. While Alan is known for his 26 years of playing Tyrone, one of Alan’s first roles was playing Ollie for five episodes in Children’s Ward between 1997 and 1998. He has also had roles in Queer as Folk, Heartbeat and The Cops before he began Corrie in 1998.

Jane Moore is known as being a journalist and broadcaster but mainly known for being a regular presenter on Loose Women. Jane also writes newspaper columns for The Sun, has written six romantic novels and has appeared on The Wright Stuff and The Andrew Marr Show. And apparently she’s been on tour recently with Sharon Osbourne? Wild.
Dean McCullough

One of my personal favourites so far, Dean McCullough, a BBC Radio 1 DJ host. He’s a relatively low-profile celebrity as many people may have not seen his face before, but his energetic entrance has definitely made a mark. Dean’s first official presenting job was on Gaydio where he and Emma Goswell discussed LGBTQ+ topics on the show – they went onto host the Gaydio breakfast show until 2021.
He then started anchoring Radio 1’s late morning weekday in September 2021, taking over from Jordan North.
Tulisa Contostavlos

The original female boss, Tulisa. From 2011 to 2012, Tulisa was an X Factor judge and won with the girl group Little Mix in 2012. However, Tulisa is most known for being part of the R&B group, N-Dubz. The group consisted of three members, Dappy, Tulisa and Fazer – they went onto release four UK top 10 singles and four UK top 10 albums. Plus, we all now know the meaning of N-Dubz to actually be the north west London postcode.
Out of all the famous I’m A Celeb campmates, Tulisa is also reportedly being paid the most.
Melvin Odoom
Famous for being a British radio DJ and TV presenter, Melvin hosted Kiss FM’s breakfast show for 12 years with Rickie Haywood-Williams and Charlie Hedges. The trio moved from Kiss to BBC Radio 1 in 2019 where they began hosting the late-night show and live lounges between Mondays and Thursdays. Apart from radio, Melvin is also known for his appearances on children’s TV where he appeared on Dick and Dom, The Slammer and Basil’s Swap Shop throughout the 2000s. Only real ones remember him on there.
Barry McGuigan
Barry McGuigan is an Irish boxer and known for winning the world featherweight champion title in 1985 which led him to become the first non-British person to be name Sports Personality of the Year. Barry began boxing at an early age and qualified for the 1980 Moscow Olympics and won gold at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Canada. Barry continued to win the British and European featherweight titles in 1983. In January 2005, he earned his place in the Internation Boxing Hall of Fame.

Out of all the famous I’m A Celeb 2024 campmates, GK Barry – real name Grace Keeling – is the only star who made it big on TikTok. She’s also known for her popular podcast, Saving Grace.
GK has become rapidly popular across social media and has gained over 3.5 million followers. Her podcast has been super successful with guests like Alison Hammond, Alan Carr, Katie Price and Tana Mongeau, along with going on a UK tour.
Grace has also featured on Foot Aslyum’s Locked In series and has featured on Channel 4 Youtube clips. Most recently, Grace has joined the Loose Women panel (joining Jane) as the youngest woman on the panel.
