Right, there are few celebrity pictures I feel I can truly emotionally relate to but the meme of Nicole Kidman exhaling with joy after her divorce from Tom Cruise was finalised truly is one of them. She just looks so truly at peace and the level of happiness she’s exuding is something I can only aspire to.

Yeah, well it turns out that’s actually not real and she’s debunked the real circumstances and context behind the viral photo. During an interview with GQ, Nicole Kidman was asked about the viral meme Tom Cruise divorce meme, where she acknowledged she’d seen it.

However, it turns out that the photo wasn’t from real life at all but is actually from when she was filming?! I’m actually in shock right now.

She revealed: “Yes. That was not me; that was from a film, that wasn’t real life. I know that image!” This has honestly ruined the image forevermore for me.

Nicole Kidman admitted the story behind the meme where she’d apparently just left her lawyer’s office after finalising her divorce from Tom Cruise is simply “not true.” Well, there we go.

The actress also touched upon another meme she’s seen, and it’s almost certainly one you’ve seen too. She explained: “I’ve also seen the one where I’m clapping like that.” The meme in question is a gif of her at the 2017 Oscars where she’s clapping but her fingers are printed backwards and just her palms are meeting. It’s quite eerie I won’t lie.

She explained why she was clapping like that, admitting: “Cause I had a massive heavy borrowed ring on and it was really painful, and I was scared of wrecking the jewellery. Ha! There’s always something behind the actual images that go out there, right?”

She also debunked her other viral reaction at the 2022 Oscars ceremony where she sat, mouth agape in shock and something happening during the event. Of course, 2022 was the year when Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock, and Nicole confirmed she was reacting to that moment. What an icon honestly.
