All the banned items which I’m A Celebrity campmates have attempted to smuggle into the jungle
People go to such lengths to season rice
I’m A Celebrity campmates are banned from taking loads of really rogue items into the jungle. You’re supposed to literally show up with only three pairs of underwear, three sets of swimwear, essential medical supplies, and one luxury item.
However, this really hasn’t stopped celebrities from trying to take other things into the I’m A Celeb camp. Some celebrities have gone to extreme lengths to smuggle in other stuff.
Here are all the banned items which I’m A Celebrity campmates have failed – or might be currently attempting – to sneak into the jungle.
Collagen sachets
Coleen Rooney aka Wagatha Christie is already causing chaos, and I’m A Celeb has only just begun. Someone told the Mirror that she’s taken two luxury items into the jungle – pics of her kids (nawww) and… collagen sachets?
For the uninitiated, collagen sachets contain a powdered protein. Taking it is meant to boost the strength of your body.
The source said, “She’s always looked after herself, and this is just part of her routine. She absolutely swears by collagen and it was non-negotiable. It’s one of her secret weapons for staying healthy. Most people would be sneaking in bars of chocolate, but she’s packed plenty of collagen sachets to keep up with her daily regime!”
The Mirror, Daily Mail and Sun have reported that Coleen Rooney is rumoured to start her own wellness brand in January.
Vapes and vodka
Of course the queen of Gen Z, GK Barry, wouldn’t go into the jungle without a cheeky vape.

Joe Baggs is a close friend of GK Barry who is vaguely famous for being on Gogglebox a while ago. He told Express.co.uk, “I know that she’s gonna want a hip flask of vodka cranberry somewhere in that case or that backpack. She must want a Lost Mary vape just to have on her. I know the girl and they’re the two things that she’s gonna be wanting in there, like she needs it.
“It’s to take the edge off. I think that’s the biggest thing.”
It remains to be seen whether GK Barry does actually try to take these items into the jungle this year.
Coffee and spices
The cast of the 2023 all-star edition of I’m A Celebrity in South Africa got into some serious trouble for sneaking banned stuff into the camp. Ant and Dec had to resort to withholding all food until the campmates declared their hidden items.
Paul Durrell snuck in coffee. The musician Myleene Klass hid seasoning in her scrunchie. But the semi-famous nutritionist Gillian McKeith went to a whole other level. She hid garlic, sea salt, tumeric, sage, rosemary, basil, oregano, cinnamon and dill in condoms in pockets attached to her knickers. Really.
A source told The Sun, “Producers were gobsmacked. She put the spices into condoms that were found in tiny pockets between two sets of knickers. She also managed to sneak in garlic bulbs in her shoes — and stuffed spices into a push-up bra after removing its silicone chicken fillets.”
Gilian McKeith legit had sachets of instant miso and tomato and basil soap in her pants.
When Gilian McKeith was on the original version of the show back in 2010, the crew also caught her with sea salt hidden in her M&S pants.
A pillow with someone’s face on
Really. Back in 2020, the producers banned AJ Pritchard (Strictly dancer, and brother of Curtis from Love Island) from bringing a pillow with his girlfriend’s face on.
His then-girlfriend, Abbie Quinnen, spilled this to the Metro. Apparently, the campmates got to pick three things they wanted to take as their luxury item.
She said, “They have to choose three and they put it in order of what they want. AJ’s first option was a pillow with him and me on it. I’ve got it here actually.
“The curl cream was second, but unfortunately, they went for the curl cream as they didn’t want the pillow in there.”
I have literally no clue what was wrong with this pillow which meant ITV didn’t want it on the show. Surely a weird pillow would have made for better TV than curl cream? Or are the I’m A Celebrity crew just really passionate about haircare?
Salt and pepper
After the EastEnders actor Cliff Parisi was booted off the show in 2019, he sat down for an exit interview with Ant and Dec. He confessed he’d snuck in some very niche contraband into the camp.
Cliff said, “I did sneak some stuff in in my pants. Salt and pepper.”
Ant was deeply unimpressed, and said, “We never saw that. That was very sneaky.”
I just have so many questions. Why would you risk sneaking in something as dull as salt and pepper? Surely the rice and beans are crying out for a peri peri seasoning mix? Did the I’m A Celeb campmates know they were ingesting seasoning from his pants? These have got to be the pettiest banned items which I’m A Celebrity cast members have attempted to sneak into the jungle.
