The Bridget Jones four trailer is out, so here are all the juicy details you need to know
Hugh Grant is back in business!
Bridget Jones has to be the ultimate British girlie icon, no matter what generation you’re from. For years, we’ve laughed, cried and embarrassed ourselves with her, solidifying her status as one of the most relatable comfort characters from a romcom. Now the trailer has dropped and she’s officially back for her fourth film, here’s everything you need to know about Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.
The film will be out on Valentine’s Day 2025
Bridget Jones’ new adventure really is just around the corner, and we’ve got less than three months until it drops! Thank goodness, my single Valentine’s Day plans are already sorted.
Hugh Grant is BACK baby!
That’s right, and it’s not just Hugh! Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson are returning to the franchise for the fourth film, with Chiwetel Ejiofor and One Day’s Leo Woodall making appearances too. Hugh will be back in his iconic role as Daniel Cleaver, and I can’t WAIT to see how that plays out.
It’s going to be a sad one
According to the cast, the fourth Bridget Jones film is going to be a tear-jerker with a “moving script.” Hugh Grant said on The Graham Norton Show: “As well as being extremely funny, it’s very, very sad.” Bring the tissues!
Mark Darcy is sadly dead
Most Read
I audibly gasped when I saw that Mark Darcy would be dead in the fourth film. We don’t know heaps about the plot yet, but we do know what happens in the book version which was released in 2013. In the novel, Bridget is a 51 year old widow after Mark Darcy dies (hence Colin Firth is not returning). The story follows her adapting to the modern world of technology and raising two small kids on her own.
Based on the trailer it’s likely it’ll be very similar, but Bridget Jones’s Baby changed a lot from its original novel, so who knows! I can’t wait to be surprised.
