Move over Timmy Chalamet: There’s been a Paul Mescal lookalike competition in Dublin
Refuse to believe who they chose as the winner
We all loved the Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition in New York so much that it turns out he’s not the only popular actor who needs such a contest: There’s just been a Paul Mescal lookalike competition in Dublin. Although it doesn’t look quite as raucous as the Timmy one, which saw someone get arrested and the actual Timothée Chalamet turn up, the Paul Mescal one has obviously gone viral all the same. Sadly, it did not take place in my bedroom with me as the deciding judge. Which seems like a crying shame, to be honest.

The winner went to a man dubbed ‘middle aisle Mescal’ – obviously implying he is the Aldi or perhaps Lidl variant of the Paul Mescal we love and cherish. And fancy endlessly.

The winner took handsome a handsome €20 – or three pints. Honestly I think I’d just go straight for the three pints and cut out the middleman of me going to spend that in the first place, inevitably on pints.
As far as we know, nobody got arrested at the Paul Mescal lookalike competition in Dublin. So that was one less drama than the New York Chalamet fiasco. However, what constitutes a lookalike seems to be a bit thin on the ground. Seemingly, the criteria is you put on a pair of O’Neills shorts and a hoodie and you’ve made the cut.

Handsome guy and all that, but I fear we may be slightly reaching.
Bonus if you’ve got a curly mullet.
Whose dad is this? He should have won the whole thing. Love him. All this event needed was the actual Paul Mescal to turn up and gag everyone. He must actually be saving that for the sequel that will be taking place in my bedroom. Applicants apply now please.
