Ranked: The wildest moments that prove Love Island 2024 was kinda amazing
And most importantly… RASPBERRIES
Was Love Island 2024 any good? I actually think, now the dust has settled, it kind of was? I have thought a lot about this series when it was on and if it was fun or if I was just looking for something to do for an hour each night. But on reflection, there were a lot of wildest moments from Love Island 2024 that I think we’ll look back as truly iconic ones in the show’s history. If this series was boring, tell me why I got home from Glastonbury and binged about six in one day? Exactly. It’s just science. With that in mind and with us all missing Love Island 2024, here’s my ranked rundown of the wildest moments from the series.
10. Ronnie’s sleeping positions
Look, I know he’s been open about his hair stuff and there was a method to his madness but this whole saga of the random ways he slept is just hilarious to me.
9. Diamanté booting off at Casa Amor recoupling
I know this happens pretty much every year – it’s guaranteed to boot off a bit every time. But this year’s little rocket Diamanté really devoured it and had Sean on strings. Something that was most pleasing to me. She could take on the world, that one.
8. Ayo’s brother saying Mimii was better for him than Jessica
This was literally crazy because why would a family member come in so close to the final and basically tell Ayo he didn’t believe in a relationship that was going well? My jaw was lowkey on the ground. It was such wild behaviour, and even more wild that AYO TOLD JESSICA!?!?!
7. Harriett’s iconic walk

Harriett Blackmore and her lollop around the villa, where she clutched her arm and flicked her legendary mane of hair – stuff of dreams. Got even better when ex-Islanders were recreating it on nights out. Amazing stuff.
6. Samantha not saying bye to Joey and Grace
I feel like this is the kind of messy pettiness Love Island has been starved of for years. Samantha’s shock dumping after Joey quickly swerved her for Grace was wild – and I’m glad she didn’t just be nice to them for the sake of it and openly snubbed them when she left. It was giving bitter Big Brother eviction and I was living for it.
5. Uma quitting the villa
God, this was deffo one of the wildest moments of Love Island 2024 but arguably one of the saddest. I actually cried, which is hilarious – but I just loved Uma so much and it was so horrible seeing Wil dumped and Uma going with him. It was so dramatic and emotional. Like great reality TV should be!
4. Joey Essex being an Islander
Although his inclusion as an Islander was actually a bit of a disaster, no one can deny the fact that Joey Essex was an Islander in the first place was one of the wildest moments of Love Island 2024 – if not ever. It’s the fact that there was no gossip about it, or any rumours. Even The Sun didn’t leak it. Producers sending him to Mallorca on a ferry so he didn’t get spotted at an airport was a stroke of genius.
3. Mimii on the terrace
Nah guys, what a mishap. Is this the only time someone has been waiting on the terrace only to be fully denied? I actually have haunting war flashbacks to seeing her sat there waiting for Ayo when we all knew full well he was downstairs telling Joey he refuses to go up. Traumatic. They come through it fine, but my GOD.
2. ‘And most importantly… raspberries’
@sazberli the hardest watch of the season #loveisland
I could write 1000 words on Tiffany alone, to be honest – she in essence was a wild moment. Just an utterly fascinating character. But in second place for the series was the hell on earth conversation between her and Ronnie where the infamous line “and most importantly raspberries” was uttered, followed by “because they’re CUTE and HAIRY”. Pure hell on earth. Loved it.
1. The ex-Islander vote
This was my wildest moment of the entire series because I can’t believe the show has never done it before, and the show should do it every series going forward til the end of time. A genius move to bring back the best Islanders who’d been dumped and have THEM vote on who they think should be dumped from the Island and not make the final. The drama was perfect and it’s a great way to spice up the boring final episodes. Huge tick.
