All the hard evidence Love Island 2024 has been staged
An entire day was filmed twice
Throughout Love Island 2024, people have been asking if the show is staged. People thought Joey knew Grace was going to be a bombshell, and when she arrived even questioned if they were secretly still together. People also questioned if Uma’s dramatic exit was all set up.
Now, these are all rumours and hearsay and there will probably be no way of ever really proving them. That being said, there has been plenty of cold, hard pieces of evidence that Love Island 2024 is staged. No matter what the show may say, editing errors and high producer involvement happens, and the drama isn’t always as authentic as it might look to us.
Here’s a rundown of it all.
Early on during Love Island 2024, there were two big editing errors in one episode
Just three days into the show, an episode was littered with editing errors. They prove that two major conversations were so highly edited, there isn’t really a way of knowing how the chats really went down.
The first one was when the Islanders got up from around the firepit, and Ronnie and Jess went to have a more private chat. As they walked over and sat down, there was a selection of cans and drinks on the table in front of them. The drinks then suddenly disappeared.
We were shown Jess and Ronnie’s chat as though we caught it from the beginning, but actually the drinks disappearing proves there was a whole section of their chat at the start cut out.

Just a few minutes later in the episode there was an error in the conversation between Ayo and Mimii. They went up to the terrace together to have a chat. Whilst there, Ayo was continuously talking – but the editing error showed he definitely wasn’t.
Throughout the chat, Mimii’s wine glass swapped from being in her hand to on the floor multiple times, without there being a single second where she could have done this. Suspicious!
Joey apparently has his own rules in the villa
Joey is the first celebrity Islander Love Island has ever had, and I have nothing but respect for the producers for setting up this level of drama. But dumped Islander Patsy said in an interview the producers went one step further, and let Joey have his own rules in the villa.
“He did kind of seem like he had his own rules to follow but he was in there just as another Islander,” she told Closer Online. “But, who knows what that bloke is getting paid for it, do you know what I mean?” She added he’s been getting “a little bit of preferential treatment” in the villa, “because he’s a celeb”.
There were two huge editing errors that showed Casa Amor was made to look more dramatic
The editing errors continued to prove Love Island 2024 is staged, as there were more ahead of the big dramatic reveal of Casa Amor. The first one came as the girls left the villa and sat down to have cocktails together.
At first, Jess’ glass was full of sangria. Then, within a second is was practically empty, and then within a second again, it was full. Less than a minute in the conversation as we saw it had gone by, and not once had she picked up her drink to have any.
So clearly, this conversation was highly edited, with bits chopped up and taken out, so it looked as though the girls were saying things in a different order to how they actually were. It also probably means Jess’ facial reactions were used when she had actually been reacting to a completely different part of the conversation, at a different time.
Then the girls got a text to say there were heading to Casa. They swiftly left the venue, got into the back of a car and went to the second villa. When the girls left, it was still the middle of the day. But then when they actually got to Casa it was the middle of the night?!
We’re not just talking a small discrepancy in time here – when they left the drinks it was clear sunshine, middle of the day. Then in Casa Amor it was pitch black, middle of the night. Where were the girls for all those hours?! Love Island, explain!!!
Joey has had some clear favouritism come his way
As well as having his own rules, the producers have set up the show from start to finish to make sure the most drama circulates around him. Joey has had THREE bombshells who he has already known, which was of course a conscious decision from bosses to make sure he’s the centre of all the chaos.
On top of this, he’s literally avoided every dumping. After every vote, least popular Islanders have been immediately dumped. The only time this wasn’t the case? When Joey Essex was in the bottom couples alongside Grace. There was no way he was going home. And then, when the Islanders were able to discuss who to leave, Joey’s name wasn’t mentioned. Convenient!
To add to Joey missing every chance to get dumped, just as it was announced he and Grace where among the least popular Islanders, Jessy was sent in. We all know by now that Love Island has a bunch of bombshells waiting, and sends in people as and when their arrival with have the most impact.
Jessy’s impact? Stealing Joey from Grace, just as Love Island announces a vote which will have the least popular Islanders dumped – which Jessy and whoever she couples up with were immune from.
The drama in another Love Island 2024 episode was staged, and an editing error proved it
Remember when the big drama was if Joey flirting with Lola meant she was going to steal him and send Jessy home? Well, there was an editing error in some of the moments surrounding that, too.
New bombshell Harry pulled Jessy for a chat about her situation with Joey. They sat alone around the fire pit. Meanwhile, some of the other Islanders gathered with Joey in front of the kitchen to chat with him about what had been happening. The camera then showed Sean and Reuben on the day beds, watching the two chats unfold.
Then, as the two conversations got a little more heated and we found out how Jessy felt and what Joey had been saying to new girl Lola, Sean got a text to tell the Islanders to gather around the firepit. But where was Sean? Already around the fire pit, with Jessy, Harry and Matilda!
We’d just seen him on the other side of the villa? How did he teleport to the fire pit so quickly without even getting up? Where did Matilda come from? Reuben was also then shown on the other side of the villa with Grace, too! How are all of the Islanders learning to time travel?!
Um, when it rained in the villa an entire day would be re-filmed?
Dumped Islanders Jess and Hugo have revealed what happens in the villa when it rains, and basically, the whole show becomes a staged and orchestrated mess. The cameras all have to be put away when the weather is bad, which means no filming can take place. To combat this, Love Island will have all the Islanders get back into the same clothes again the next day, and re-film all their chats, as though nothing ever happened. Wild?!
Talking with Closer Online about re-filming scenes and behind the scenes secrets, Hugo said: “When it rains, the cameras all get stopped. You have to put the same trunks on as you had the day before the next day, and re-film as if it’s that day.”
A conversation with Sean and Josh was very clearly edited
And a final editing error to round us off, which is another example of Islanders magically moving around the villa. During a chat between Josh and Sean, some of the girls were clearly sat behind Sean. Then out of the blue, the girls have disappeared.
This is all shown to us as happening in less than a second, definitely not enough time for all the girls to get up and leave, without us seeing. So, clearly, a huge part of Sean and Josh’s conversation was cut.
