Here’s exactly when Georgie & Mandy’s First Wedding is set in relation to Young Sheldon

With Young Sheldon finishing for good this year, it was music to fans’ ears everywhere to hear that a new spin off is set to release in October. Whilst we might not be getting our Sheldon fix in the same way, we’re all excited to keep the world alive and follow the storyline in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Among all the excitement, it can be easy to forget the important deets – notably when the season is coming out and what to expect.

Here’s a timeline explaining exactly when the new Young Sheldon spin off is set

Young Sheldon is set in the late 1980s and early 1990s and follows the life of child prodigy Sheldon Cooper and his family as he grows up with unique challenges and social impairments. We watch him grow from his first year at high school aged nine, to starting college two years later, up until he leaves for Caltech in 1994.

And as we know from The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon grows up to become a theoretical physicist and is insanely smart, which is evident even throughout his childhood. Think back to the the pilot of The Big Bang Theory where we catch up with Sheldon in 2007 aged 27.

The first episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is actually set a month or two after the Young Sheldon finale, after we see Jim Parsons reprise his role as Sheldon and write a memoir about and reflecting on his childhood. So Sheldon is still meant to be 14 years old when the spin off begins.

However, unlike Young Sheldon, the spinoff will be multi-camera and will reflect a more traditional sitcom format.

Picking right up where we left off, the show will follow newlyweds Georgie Cooper and Mandy McCallister, played by Montana jordan and Emily Osment and will be on screens on October 17th, all being well.

Hopefully this will fill the Young Sheldon sized hole we’ve felt all summer.
