Yikes! Gypsy Rose Blanchard may be forced to name her ex Ryan on baby’s birth certificate

So we all know that Gypsy Rose Blanchard is pregnant. And last week she went IN on the details of her sex life to confirm the father of her baby.

Replying to a TikTok comment, Gypsy said: “Left Ryan March 23rd, had a period April 17th. Made love with Ken and only him April 27, 28, 29, 30, conceived on May 4th and positive test on May 24th. KEN IS THE FATHER.” Ok girl!

But now, Gypsy Rose might actually have to put her ex Ryan on her new baby’s birth certificate because of Louisiana law.

Gypsy Rose filed for divorce from her husband Ryan on the 8th April, shortly after they announced their split – but the divorce proceedings are still currently underway and may not be finalised by the time the baby is born.

And thanks to an old law in Louisiana – where Ryan and Gypsy filed their marriage certificate – he may have to be listed as the father of the baby.

The law dictates that a mother’s husband is automatically listed as the father on the birth certificate, regardless if the couple have been separated.

If the mother is married to someone other than the biological father when the child was conceived or has been divorced for less than 300 days at the time of birth, the husband/ex-husband shall be the presumed father, unless paternity is established for the biological father,” it explains.

Louisiana-based family law attorney Beau Brock spoke to People about the legalities surrounding Gypsy’s situation.

“There’s a legal presumption in Louisiana that if you have a child while you’re married, it’s presumed to be the husband’s child. It’s done that way to protect the child,” she said.

“All the laws in Louisiana concerning paternity are designed to protect the child and make sure the child has a father and a mother to provide for them. So that presumption can be overcome by DNA and that’s what people have to do.”

Unless Ryan signs an affidavit stating that Ken is the father, paternity will be his by default – which includes the baby getting his last name. Yikes!
