Yikes! A snippet of Taylor Swift’s new album has allegedly leaked and people are SLATING it

‘We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist’ is an actual lyric

Um, so Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department is set to be released tomorrow and, of course, it’s allegedly been leaked. But people are kind of going feral at some of the lyrics and the whole thing is getting SLATED.

The supposed leak surfaced on a Google Drive link and now clips and pictures of lyrics are appearing all over Twitter.

In an apparent leaked clip of one of the songs, the lyrics read: “You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate. We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist. I scratch your head, you fall asleep like a tattooed Golden Retriever.” And let’s just say, a lot of people aren’t the biggest fan.

One person shared a photo of the lyrics and said: “Whoever wrote this isn’t getting tenured at the tortured poets department.”

And of course, the replies to this tweet are absolutely SAVAGE. One person said: “This sounds like something the Oompa Loompas would sing before tossing someone in a river” and I’m crying. Another person added: “I had to put down my phone, take a deep breath, and pace around my room once before coming back and pressing resume. Why would she say that?”

Other people were either speculating whether the alleged leaked lyrics were straight-up AI-generated or taken from some 12-year-old’s Wattpad fanfic. One person asked: “Are these AI-generated lyrics?” and another person questioned: “Wtf is a tattoo golden retriever?” So many questions.

Swifties and non-Swifties alike are fully losing their minds right now.

But while other people are busy listening and slating the leaks of the new album, more hardcore Taylor Swift fans are literally BEGGING people not to listen to the leaked songs. One person on Twitter said: “The album was leaked 🙁 The Tortured Poets Department was just leaked. PLEASE DO NOT listen until the official release. Taylor worked really hard on this and it’s completely disrespectful to her, support her.” This is a sentiment echoed by a lot of other fans.
