‘Her actions were questionable’: The four dumped Islanders spill their villa truths

‘I struggle to understand how you have a connection for three weeks then all of a sudden have a connection with someone else’

Olivia, Maxwell, Claudia and Keanan were all sent packing in the mass dumping, and have shared some juicy bits about their time on the show.

Is there any bad blood between them and the other Islanders? What’s next? Will they be going on dates or leaving things in South Africa? And, who do they all think deserves to win the show this year?

In an interview since they were dumped, all four Love Island 2023 cast members have shared some home truths and what’s next for them. Here’s what they had to say.

‘It was the right decision’

Claudia is obviously gutted to be leaving the show, but is even just a small part of her pissed off that Olivia dumped her? “It’s a bittersweet feeling considering the whole Casey situation and there wasn’t anyone else for me after that,” she said.

“I left with Kenan which was lovely and I’m excited to see my family now. It would have been nice to stay if someone came in for me but Olivia and Maxwell picking me and Keanan was the right decision, everyone else had a connection and we didn’t.”

What’s next for Maxwell and Olivia?

Just before they were dumped, Maxwell and Olivia made their relationship exclusive. So what’s next for them? “I’m excited about moving forward with my relationship with Olivia,” Maxwell said.

“We’ve talked about is our first date. We had a date in the villa but we’ve been discussing what we might like to do outside and when we can do it. We also want to meet each other’s friends and families.” Maxwell said he will be planning the date, and is thinking sushi and drinks.

Olivia added she is “overjoyed” to be leaving with Maxwell. “I found what I was looking for, so I’m excited to get home and see my friends and family and continue on my journey with Maxwell,” she said. “I’m so excited to meet his friends and family and he’s excited to meet mine too. It’s all very exciting, I’ve never felt this way about a guy before.”

‘I’ve never been in love before and I think this could be the start of those feelings’

Olivia said she too was going to ask Maxwell to be exclusive when he did it, and that she thinks she might be falling in love with him. “It’s the first time that I’ve ever been exclusive with anyone,” she said. “It’s the start of something new for me which I’m super excited about. I’ve never been in love before and I think this could be the start of those feelings.”

How have Maxwell and Olivia left things will Jessie and Will?

Let’s address it: How do Maxwell and Olivia feel about the Jessie and Will situation now? “Me and Jessie are on good terms, my opinion of her and Will is separate from what I actually think of her as a person,” Olivia said. “I think she is a lovely girl but some of her actions were questionable, which other people felt too.”

Maxwell said: “Will and I had a conversation and we are fine, there is no problem. I have no negative feelings towards Jessie as a person. I didn’t really get a chance to speak to her properly, as I said my goodbyes, but I think she is a lovely girl.”

And more importantly, how does Olivia feel about Kai?

There’s been a lot of bad blood between Olivia and Kai since Casa, but Olivia seems to think that’s all water under the bridge now. “I hope we go back to being friends when we get out,” she said. “I don’t want any animosity between us, I have a big heart and I just wish him all the best.”

‘I think Casey was on her mind during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge’

It was clear from their time in the villa they were going to leave as just friends, but Keanan said he thinks Claudia’s mind has always been on Casey. He said: “Claudia and I had the best chats but we both quickly realised we were just going to be good friends.

“It was nice to get on with someone on that level, she’s a great girl and she deserves the best. I think Casey was on her mind during the ‘Snog, Marry, Pie!’ challenge so I thought I would give her a nice snog. We are very good mates now, we have a few nights out planned so I’m sure we will continue our friendship.”

‘It surprised me how he handled things – I felt we could have worked on the outside’

Claudia said she and Casey “instantly hit it off” and she really thought they would have worked as a couple outside the villa. She said she was “drawn” to how he looked, as well as how he came across.

“He’s the sort of guy I’d take home to my parents,” she said. “We connected really well and I definitely saw potential. It surprised me towards the end how he handled things because I felt like we could have worked on the outside.”

When asked about Casey moving onto Rosie, Claudia added: “I struggle to understand how you can have a connection with someone for three weeks and then all of a sudden have a connection with another girl after three days if you’re a slow burner.” Yikes.

Keanan thinks he could have won Rosie over if he had more time in the villa

As things have been left, Rosie and Casey are together in the villa. But Keanan thinks this is just because he didn’t have enough time in there. “My time was cut short but I’m confident that if I had another two weeks, more could’ve happened,” he said. “I genuinely think we could have built a better connection and might have ended up in a couple.”

Who do the dumped Islanders think will win Love Island 2023?

To conclude their exit interview, each dumped Islander was asked who they think will go on and win Love Island 2023. They had mixed opinions, backing three different couples between them.

Olivia said she is “rooting for Lana and Ron all the way” and said she “really thinks they will go the distance.” Maxwell is backing Shaq and Tanya to win, and said “the bond and connection they have is just so beautiful.” He said despite Casa, he thinks they’re even stronger as a couple now.

Keanan is also backing Ron and Lana, whilst Claudia said Tom and Samie. She said: “The journey they’ve been on has had ups and downs but you can see how much he adores her. I want what they have, he worships the ground she walks on. Watching them grow together and form such a beautiful bond was a lovely thing to witness.”
