Here are the very best memes about the queue to see the Queen’s coffin
Nothing screams British like a queue for Queenie
Britain’s a fucking weird place isn’t it? The whole world takes the piss out of us for our obsession with queuing, while simultaneously adoring our obscenely wealthy un-elected head of state. And following a certain head of state’s passing, these two themes have collided in a three mile spectacle of absurd Britishness. I am, of course, referring to the queue to see the Queen’s coffin.
Are you ready for the most British of British things ever? 🇬🇧

People are staying over night, getting piss-wet through, tired and hungry in an orderly procession, all for a chance to glimpse the coffin and hopefully be released from the collective grief I know we are all feeling.
Yet while many are flocking to central London to pay their respects, many more are assembling on Twitter to respond to the whole situation in the only way they know how. With memes. Cold, hard memes.

How ‘The Queue’ isn't called the Elizabeth Line is beyond me.

I had little interest in going to London to see the Queen lying in state. But I am DESPERATE to go see #TheQueue! It must surely be the next blockbuster #RealityTV show. We British are bonkers. pic.twitter.com/Ly9GlPzzzc

Queue is such a great word. The actual important letter, and then four more silently waiting behind it in a line.
