After all the drama with the proposal scandal and him saying no, it’s been confirmed James Taylor and Maeva D’Ascanio from Made in Chelsea are now engaged!

According to The Daily Mail, James asked Maeva to marry him on a romantic trip to Rome last month, and of course, she said yes. The proposal comes just weeks after Maeva asked him to marry her, and he told her to “get up” and that “not in a million years” would he accept a proposal from her.

Maeva and James have both confirmed the news, in an interview with Hello! Magazine. “I can’t believe I am actually engaged!” Maeva said. “Being engaged to the man of my dreams is amazing. It’s a different love, it’s stronger, it’s deeper. I feel safe.” James added: “It feels like I have everything I have ever wanted. I now have that secure feeling that this is my woman forever.”

A source close to the couple told MailOnline: ‘This is everything Maeva has ever wanted. Marriage is the ultimate commitment, now they’re engaged Maeva feels reassured and excited about their future, and anything that’s happened before can be forgiven.”

In recent episodes of the show, Maeva has just found out James cheated on her, kissing someone else whilst on a drunken night out in Raffles night club. “I disrespected our relationship that night, I disrespected you, I threw everything away for a drunken night and I hate myself for it,” James said on the show, before confessing he had bought a ring for Maeva. It looks like all is forgiven now, and the ring has been put to use!
