Seven fire engines attend incident at National Museum Cardiff
South Wales fire and rescue service arrived around midday today
Witnesses have reported a small amount of smoke rising from the dome of the National Museum Wales at around 12:30 pm today. South Wales fire and rescue service have confirmed their attendance is in response to a call-out made at around 12:00pm, and not part of an exercise.
We can confirm that there was a small fire in the dome at National Museum Cardiff on Thursday lunchtime
No staff were hurt and no collections were damaged

There are multiple crews at the scene and the incident is ongoing. Evac Cardiff has told people to avoid the area surrounding the Museum and Park Place. The area has been blocked off and Museum Avenue is closed.
Many onlookers observe the scene as fire crew members ongoingly attempt entry within the dome.
