Who’s the best-dressed on campus in Liverpool this autumn?

We can tell from the lack of sun and the sad return of Liverpool’s usual gloomy weather that winter is coming, but fear not, weather warriors.

The Liverpool Tab has been spending the past few weeks scouring campus for our favourite mid-season looks, proving that chic, fall fashion is still persisting despite the torrential rain.

Take inspiration from these cosy stylish students for outfits that will shelter you from these bitter, northern winds.

Jolina, second-year Mathematics student

We just love this co-ordinating skirt and jumper combo, matched with a pair of thigh-high boots. The oversized fluffy coat perfects the look, ideal for a chilly autumnal day on campus!

Elizabeth, third-year Law student

How cute is this Topshop emboridered, corduroy pinafore layered over a mustard-coloured, ribbed top? Worn with wardrobe staples such as this pale-wash denim jacket and Old Skool Vans, this outfit is perfect for feeling confident on a long day of lectures.

Maddy, third-year English Lit student

The smart technique of layering multiple jumpers means Maddy can stay cosy, even in the Grove Wing of the SJ! The darker colours on top hit us with an autumnal vibe whilst the lighter vintage jeans and statement yellow, floral Doc Martens no doubt brighten up those all-too-familiar, cloudy campus days.

Makena & Jamila, Art & Design and on a gap year

While Makena and Jamila aren't university students, they are most definitely two of the best-dressed people we found on campus. Makena's blue-themed outfit includes the layering of two tops from AliExpress and a pair of raw-hem mom jeans. The black puffer coat from Zara and platform shoes, brought back from a trip to Belgium, tie the whole outfit together beautifully.

Jamila told us her look is mostly borrowed from Makena's wardrobe, and consists of this gorgeous striped dress from Zara, maxi coat from Primark and a strong pair of earrings borrowed from her mum. S T U N N I N G.

Austin & Bradley, second-year English Lit students

Austin's pairing of a camouflage jacket from ASOS and belted, pin-stripe trousers from Bershka is such a funky combo and we're totally here for it. Worn with a band t-shirt and a Franz Kafka tote, this outfit is so on brand that we didn't even have to ask what he studies.

Bradley's all-black outfit base looks super smart and, layered with a denim jacket and matching New Balance trainers, is stylishly co-ordinated.

Adam, first-year Mechanical Engineering student

How cosy is does this warm fleece coat from LMC look on top of this black, red and white striped Carharrt t-shirt? A layered outfit, perfect for days when it's cold in the mornings and boiling by noon. Adam's crisp white Nikes are a timeless shoe choice and always ready to compliment any casual campus outfit.

Finn, second-year Psychology student

It's unbelievable what you can pick out of charity shops, and Finn's outfit shows just that. Everything that he's wearing is second-hand and was found in his local vintage shops back in Brighton. We love the bright blue wash of his casual dungarees against the smart, cable-knit jumper, and the classic boots make his three-piece outfit an iconic one.

Sam, third-year Mechanical Engineering students

Sam's simple style blends a statement fleece jacket from Topman that contrasts against an all-dark outfit. Having a bold, warm coat for the cooler months is an easy trick for making winter attire more noticeable. These khaki Puma trainers are perfect for adding a slight bit of colour whilst remaining serviceable in this season of unpredictable weather.

China and Oakley, third-year good boys

Last, but not least, are these handsome chaps donning some very stylish, very warm coats this autumn – setting a perfect example for us students to follow.
