Watch: Armed police arrest man in Brighton suspected of carrying gun
It happened on Queens Road
Police officers with automatic weapons have arrested a man on Queens Road, in the centre of Brighton.
The man, 19, was filmed laying down with his arms outstretched, before being surrounded by armed police. The man remains in custody.
Brighton police said: "Police were called to Western Road after a man was seen with what was believed to be a gun."
Footage posted on Twitter by Jamie Reid shows the incident unfolding.
Jamie says that the man was carrying what appeared to be an air rifle.
