Uni at Leeds is all about the nightlife. Everyone’s going out nearly every night, and with the amount of fab clubs in Leeds, who can blame them? But if you don’t fancy hitting up a club this week, here’s everything else that’s happening.

Slaves, O2 Academy, Tuesday 15th

Slaves, a two-piece lo-fi garage band from Kent are performing at the O2 Academy this week. Turns out the venue’s not just good for Saturday nights at Projekt, so if you want to try your hand at something that’s not a night of getting absolutely smashed at pre-drinks, going to a club for two hours before heading to KFC at three in the morning for a bargain bucket that you’ll really regret in the morning, then get yourself some tickets for Slaves. It’ll be worth it.

Bongo’s Bingo, Canal Mills, Wednesday 16th 

Does this really need introducing? Everyone who’s anyone knows about Bongo’s Bingo. But, in case you don’t, it’s literally just bingo, but it’s at Canal Mills, you get totally drunk, and there’s impromptu dance offs, raves, and prizes. Unfortunately, this week’s is sold out, but look on Facebook hard enough and you’ll find some tickets.

Superbull @ Pryzm – Friday 18th November

Superbull have been bringing the fire to Friday nights for over a decade and it’s now the turn of Leeds’ most prolific super club PRYZM to play host to the the UK’s biggest student party! Featuring 3 epic rooms of music. Dick and Dom will be joining the fun this Friday! 

30th International Film Festival at Leeds – until the 17th

The Film Festival’s been on since 3rd November but is finishing this week. Don’t miss the chance to see 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Monster Calls, and Amadeus, in amazing venues like Victoria Hall, and Hyde Park Picture House. It’s the perfect opportunity to get a bit of culture in your week.

Christkindlmarkt, Millenium Square – here until the 18th December

Friday saw the opening of this year’s German Christmas market, although it’s missing one of the most coveted stalls: the famed Frankfurter Scheune. The loss of the beer tent is indeed a travesty, but if you can get past this then get down to Millenium Square this week to get that real Christmassy feeling. There’s still hot chocolate, hot dogs, candy floss, and, of course, beer – it just won’t be found in a tent.
