A Queen’s student ‘travelled to Ballymena’ with a dealer for weed

The lengths you’ll go to to score

On a cold Autumn morning at 9:30 am newly inducted Queen’s biomedicine student Tom (name changed for obvious reasons) from England sent a text to Martin, a local dealer from the North, hoping to score his first bag in Belfast. “A guy I’d met on the first day at Queen’s give me the number, he said he’d do me a good bag and that he’d probably meet in town.”

Tom should have noticed the first red flag when Martin told him to come to the Crumlin Road. “I started walking from Elms. When I got into the city centre I stopped in McDonald’s to check Google Maps and realised it wasn’t anywhere near town. The walk talk me about an hour total.”

They took the trip because his dealer didn’t have any weed in Belfast

When Tom finally made it to Crumlin Road he was informed by Martin that he had no grass on him, and that if Tom wanted some, they would have to travel to the supplier in Ballymena. “To be honest,” Tom said, “I wasn’t very sure about going to Ballymena with a drug dealer I had just met, to pick up grass on my third day in Belfast. I didn’t even know where Ballymena was. I really fancied getting high though, so I thought fuck it.”

After a long bonding session on the bus to Ballymena the two new friends finally arrived at the dealers house, where they bought some green and smoked a joint: “We smoked a joint at the guy’s house. I mean we’d gone to Ballymena, we fucking had to.”

Tom finally arrived home with his first bag in Belfast, and a new contact when he needed more. “He definitely did the best bags I’ve had over here. Sound lad.”

The dealer has been contacted via text for a comment from a number given by Tom, asking about his side of how the trip went down. He replied: “It was fucking Abbey Centre, not Ballymena. These English boys don’t know where their heads are at.”

Well fair enough.
