It’s that time of year again when a select few of the QUB elite plaster the campus (and unsuspecting freshers who stand still for too long) with gigantic posters of their smiling faces.

On Sunday night, that time of year became a little more noisy, when Broadcast Literary post-grad Tori Watson unleashed her mixtape on the world.

Currently amassing a monumental 576 views, Watson’s Mixtape mashes up a veritable smorgasbord of hits.

The opening scene sees a beautiful couple dancing to The Police’s old-fashioned hit Every Breath You Take, before coming across a cassette. Nostalgic.

Highlights include the candidate aping Britney Spears complete with nerd glasses and school-girl uniform, crying as she imitates baldy oddball Sinead O’Connor and prancing around Botanic while singing ABBA.

Other unforgettable moments include a Grease parody and obligatory reference to anything Titanic-y.

Watson’s wacky policies include the introduction of therapy guide dogs in the SU to de-stress students in exam time, introducing lockers around campus and wearing… bubble wrap? Haha x

Watson said: “Basically I wanted to make a campaign video that would make people laugh, but promote a serious message.

“It was pulled together surprisingly quickly too – I came up with the concept with two friends on Saturday night and by Sunday evening the whole thing had been filmed and edited.

It’s amazing what you can do with an iPhone 5 and 7 students from a plethora of weird and wacky academic backgrounds.”
