What’s in your wardrobe? Featuring Betsy-May Smith
WIYW is back, and it’s better than ever
This week, second year film student Betsy-May Smith gave us some insight into her afforable, yet fashionable wardrobe.
Betsy-May says: “I loves charity shops, car boot sales and eBay for finding vintage clothing at amazing prices, as well as mixing it up with some high street pieces.”
Outfit #1
Betsy’s first outfit consists of a black skirt and black and white striped jumper, layered under an incredible tasselled leather jacket and a pair of Dr. Martens.
The boots are finished off with cute rainbow laces that give a fun twist to this edgy look.
Incredibly, everything except the jumper (which is from Primark) is from a charity shop or eBay.
Betsy uses charity shops and eBay to find one-off pieces that don’t break the bank and add to her unique style.
The key piece in this outfit is the jacket, which only cost £13 from eBay and looks like it is worth a lot more.
Outfit #2
She clued us in on where she gets her style inspirations, paying homage to American 90’s fashion and 90’s icons such as Chloë Sevigny.
Her second outfit consists of an H&M jumper, a clear rucksack from Tiger, shorts from a car boot sale (they were 50p!) and a pair of daring Buffalo Tower Platforms that were purchased on eBay.
The edgy shoes and bag paired with a girly jumper shows Betsy isn’t afraid to mix and match different styles to stand out from the crowd. Clear accessories are in definitely right now, and look perfect paired with this outfit.
Outfit #3
The final outfit consists of a stripey crop top from Bank and high-waisted ‘mom’ jeans that were another car boot sale find, and only cost £1!
Betsy’s favourite charity shops and car boot sales are in and around London, particularly near the Richmond area. For high street shopping, her favourites are H&M and Primark.
