Bobbin bouncing back under new bosses
After a disastrous year The Bobbin are undergoing an overhaul to win our hearts back
An hour after you order, your beer’s flat and your burger has vanished into the ether – The Bobbin is notorious for its terrible customer service.
But the pub’s new bosses are determined to transform it for this Fresher’s week.

Aberdeen’s answer to a union
Despite being the only student friendly pub near campus it painstakingly under-achieved its potential last year.
And it didn’t deliver the service the paying sports clubs were paying for.
Abi Workmaster (yes that is her real name), a fourth year hockey committee member, said: “The enthusiasm soon died from staff and the hockey club as match teas deteriorated rapidly.
“The agreed sponsorship deal was altered half way through the year when they started charging for match teas.
“But I look forward to the Bobbin’s comeback and seeing how it’s upped it’s game.”

Can’t say no to that
Things are looking up for our local and it has been blossoming all summer.
The pub is now in the capable hands of a new boss and has even been treated to a make-over.
All through Freshers week The Bobbin will be running pre-garage parties, from fancy dress to UV.
And throughout the summer the pub been doing its bit for local charities.
Fancy dress walks with the locals into town and the revival of its Man v.s Food challenges are bringing a lighter touch back to the place.

Similar to Liquid’s UV night…

Even the famous pub quiz is making a comeback.
Students are happy for their local to bounce back. Philippa Orr said:
“I am excited to the Bobbin becoming the busy student pub it always used to be.
“Good chat, good food and most importantly good drink!”

And recently the pub has announced it will be staging a live music night with a local established artist.
With promises of karaoke and an open mic night students can once again sing for their pints.
With RGWHO’s union shut down, Grub’s over-priced paninis and TK’s being old news hopefully the Bobbin’s comeback will be successful.
Because where else is there to get a pint for two quid in Aberdeen…
