10 reasons for missing lectures
Caroline Usher gives us the reasons why we shouldn’t go to our lectures (and why it’s totally acceptable)
1. The Bed Guest
The last thing you need with a raging hangover is someone next to you whose name you can’t quite remember. You’ve got to think of a strategy to get them to leave… or turn over, go back to sleep and hope they get the message.

Close your eyes hard enough and they might disappear.
2. The Finished Assignment
It took a lot of effort to finish that assignment, so you obviously deserve a break from learning.
3. The Bus Never Arrived
You honestly did make it to the bus stop on time – it said ‘Due’ on the board, and you can’t wait forever. The day’s already off to a bad start, you’re better off going back inside

3 minutes? Yeah more like 3 fucking years and then some.
4. The Slides Are On Moodle
Well I’m not going to brag, but I can read, so going to that 9am lecture just doesn’t seem worth it.
5. The Assigned Reading
Despite having the ability to read, we all leave it to the last minute and usually it just doesn’t happen… Not much point going to the lecture if you can’t take part in the fun, article based discussion.
6. The Distance
Harcourt and Wheatley are so far away that getting there is more of a mission than the actual lecture.
7. The Cosy Bed
Are lectures ever really more appealing than your bed?!

Some days it’s really hard to deal with life… Pretty much every day.
8. The Illness
Communal living means cold and flus are everywhere, so you’re just being a responsible student by not spreading the infection (this goes for all diseases).
9. The Assignment That’s Due In The Next Day
When you have a deadline the next day, it’s just a waste of your precious time going to a non-related lecture. All about getting your priorities sorted.
10. Still Drunk
It happens to the best of us. Nobody has time for buses, walking further than the bathroom/kitchen, boring lectures or that midday hangover. All embarrassment is avoided by not turning up at all.

9am lecture on Thursday? Ha, no such thing according to Fuzzys.
