Lancaster students: It’s time to vote in the first round of BNOC 2023

The heat is on. It’s time to vote for who you think is 2023’s Biggest Name on Campus


Lancaster’s biggest honour, the reason we all came to uni. No, it isn’t a first in a degree, it’s BNOC of the year 2023. Strap in and get ready for this year’s first round of candidates. There can only be one so make sure to vote wisely for this year’s ultimate BNOC.

Shaun Liddle, Third Year, Bowland, History (he/him)

Shaun has been nominated for biggest BNOC for being the darts president and captain of the firsts… and for having a cup thrown at him at Roses. He told the Tab, “It would be an honour to be in the competition following in my idol and last year’s runner up Peter “Daddy Bowland” Moyes’ footsteps”. Liam Boulter, Third Year, Fylde, Geography (he/him)

Liam was nominated as a BNOC because, quote simple, everybody knows who he is – meaning he’s the literal definition of a BNOC. Liam told us, “I was completely shocked to find out I was nominated and I can safely say that I’ve dreamt of this and a Gymshark sponsorship”. Could Joe be Lancaster’s BNOC of the year 2023? Joe Williams, Third Year, County, Natural Sciences (he/him)

Joe has been nominated for biggest BNOC for contributing a lot to the uni through societies and his department and still being involved with football for Roses despite being injured. He told us, “I really didn’t expect to get any nominations for this award but it’s so nice to be recognised for helping people out!”. Could Joe be Lancaster’s BNOC of the year 2023? Jodie Wearden, Third Year, Pendle, Sociology (she/her)

Jodie has been nominated for biggest BNOC for being Fem Soc President. She told the Tab, “I am honoured to be nominated for such a prestigious award, with a huge legacy. Ramiz Cuthbert, Third Year, Fylde, Linguistics and English Language (he/him)

Ramiz has been nominated for biggest BNOC because he runs a famous Lancs Ig account and is in loads of societies. He told the Tab he is “teeming with ecstasy and tears of joy – being nominated for such a prestigious, nay distinguished award is the ultimate recognition for all of my hard work, dedication, and general badassery on campus!”. Hannah Turvey, Third Year, Pendle, Social Work (she/her)

Hannah has been nominated for biggest BNOC for knowing everyone at the uni. She told the Tab, “My friends and girlfriend won’t shut up about this – I admire their dedication with this once in a lifetime nomination, even if they are wrong (still love them tho)”. Ruthvik Chintha, Second Year, Cartmel, Computer Science (he/him)

Ruthvik has been nominated for biggest BNOC because he “butt-skated down lancaster highstreet at night” and is friends with a Greens’ bouncer. He told us, “Omg this is actually so interesting and exciting. Like I’ve never been a part of anything of this sort and it really feels nice. Being an international student in here and making friends is usually a big deal and now the moments and memories I make with my friends are being addressed and captured, I couldn’t be more happy!
