The Tab Exeter is holding an open meeting to find new writers

It’s official! The Tab Exeter is looking for new writers.

The Tab Exeter is a news site run by Exeter students, for Exeter students. What’s not to love?

Writing for us is a great way to boost your CV and writing skills and make some new journalist friends.

No prior journalism experience is needed, and it doesn’t matter what course you do, anyone can get involved.

This is the exact type of work experience employers look for, and you can do it from the comfort of your own home, or bed if you want.

As a writer, you can find out and report on all the latest news on campus before anyone else, write about your favourite places in Exeter (it’s a great opportunity to explore the city), and make lots of new friends at The Tab Exeter socials.

What is The Tab Exeter?

The Tab Exeter is part of a larger student news site, The Tab.

The Tab is a news site curated just for students, with nearly 10 million monthly readers, and local sites at over 30 universities across the UK.

Articles published by The Tab Exeter will be posted on our social media platforms which, combined, have over 14,000 followers.

Most notably our Instagram has over 11,000 followers but we have also launched a TikTok account this year so if you would prefer to create video content alongside or instead of written content, you’re very welcome to.

The Tab Exeter covers stories that affect or relate to students at not just at Exeter University, but bigger stories that cover Exeter city and Devon.

Over the last year, we covered a range of exciting stories, from fun pieces like Here are six expectation vs. reality moments we all have as Exeter University students, or Here are the silliest things Exeter Uni students have done because they had a crush.

We also cover more serious news pieces, including Pro-Palestine students disrupt meeting between Exeter University senior management. Whatever you enjoy writing about, we have opportunities for everyone.

Our team of student editors are available to train you and help you write articles, as well as a professional journalist from The Tab HQ.

We have weekly meetings and host fun socials with editors and writers, making it a fun way to meet new people.
