Hit list for the best brunch spots in Cardiff to cure your Wednesday night hangover

Four of the most worthy brunch spots in and around Cathays

We all know as much as a Wednesday Yolo night at the SU is a commitment to the night out, it also cries out for remedies the morning after. Thankfully Cardiff is booming with places to sit and yap (or not if that headache is still lingering) about last night’s antics while refuelling with some brunch – yes brunch, because who’s getting up early enough to call it breakfast?

This hit list is sure to help you decide where to check out in Cardiff.

1. Metchy’s, Cathays

Metchy’s is everyone’s favourite local, sitting on the bottom of Cathays Terrace, who could turn down this hot spot especially when they have a breakfast made for us uni students! Metchy’s guarantees a plate equipped to attack that hangover at a more than reasonable price.

Serving breakfasts, pancakes, paninis, burgers and a million ways to have your eggs. What more could you want?

2. Cafe 37, Cathays

In a similar bid to Metchy’s, Cafe37 on Salisbury Road prides itself on “classic fry-ups and all-American favourites”.

Also dedicating a breakfast to us students, Cafe37 absolutely caters to the hangover needs and is rather central to Cathays making it a perfect hangover brunch spot.

3. Juno Lounge, Roath

Coming in as the first chain restaurant on the hit list, Juno Lounge has proven itself a worthy candidate for eradicating that hangover.

With brunch options, breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, mains and more it caters to the masses. It won’t go amiss, especially followed by a stroll to Roath Lake if you feel like reconnecting with nature is on the cards.

4. Milkwood, Pontcanna

If you’re feeling like last night didn’t completely wipe you out, then the walk to Milkwood is worth your time – especially if you want Instagram-worthy brunch pics in an attempt to balance out the contents of your camera roll from the night before.

A short walk through Bute Park and Pontcanna Fields will lead you to Milkwood which has huge potential to become your favourite *slightly addictive* brunch spot – take it from us!
