Sweet child of wine: The Cardiff Wine Passport is back and it’s better than ever

For £25, you can get multiple glasses of wine at up to eight different independent bars

Following a successful pilot scheme, the Cardiff Wine Passport is back.

For £25, you get a passport which contains six stamps. Each stamp can be used for a 125ml glass at any of the eight independent establishments participating in the scheme.

According to the Cardiff Wine Passport’s website: “The Cardiff Wine Passport is a unique way to explore some of Cardiff’s best-loved independent bars & restaurants.

“Created with the help of FOR Cardiff’s City Ambition fund, it is designed to introduce wine & food lovers to some of Cardiff’s smaller, independent venues – those which are often overlooked in favour of multinational chains.”

The passport can be used at Curado, Asador 44, Bacareto, Bar 44, Daffodil, Scaredy Cats, Nighthawks, and Vermut.

The website also says that there are enough glasses of wine available for everyone who has purchased a passport and all of the bars are within a five minute walk of each other. The passport is also only valid for six weeks (19th February to 27th April , Sunday to Thursday) and you should consult your passport for the times that each individual venue will be partaking in the scheme.

If you’re a wine lover then this scheme is for you as you will be saving roughly £2 per glass for each of these handpicked wines.

You can buy a passport from 6th February from the Cardiff Wine Passport’s website.
