It’s over! Love Island 2024’s Joey and Jessy confirm they’ve split up
They lasted a whole seven weeks
Hayley SoenLove Island 2024 stars Joey Essex and Jessy Potts have confirmed they have split up, just seven weeks after leaving the show together. The pair posted after the show to say they were in their “exclusive era” but have now confirmed they’ve called time on their relationship.
Joey and Jessy had been plagued with split rumours since they left the Love Island villa just ahead of the show’s final this summer, but now they have said it is all over – but they plan to remain friends.
Speaking to The Sun, Joey said: “Unfortunately, we have decided to call an end to the relationship but I hope we can continue to be friends. I truly wish Jessy the very best with whatever she does in the future.”
Jessy added: “I appreciate the Love Island experience I had with Joey, we tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be. I’m so grateful to everyone who supported us and look forward to all of the exciting opportunities ahead.”

A source said more about the reason behind the split, and said both Joey and Jessy have found things hard given their busy schedules after the villa. “Joey has always been super busy and things got even more hectic after the villa,” they said.
“He’s now going away to boxing camp as well so things were just getting hard. Jessy also had her own thing going on and was here, there and everywhere after the show. It was too difficult to keep up with each other.”
There are now hardly any couples from Love Island 2024 still together already, following split news from couples such as Sean and Matilda, Grace and Reuben and Harriett and Ronnie. Couples still together include winners Mimii and Josh, Jess and Ayo, Nicole and Ciaran and Uma and Wil.
