Ollie claims Demi got a ‘good edit’ on Love Is Blind UK when ‘in reality’ she was very different
‘I’m not trying to throw her under the bus’
Ollie has made some pretty bold claims following the Love Is Blind UK reunion, insisting his ex Demi got a “good edit” on the show, when in reality things between them were very different.
On the reunion episode, we saw Matt and Emma Willis ask the former couple if they had worked things out between them, after they left it as a “not now” when Demi said no at the altar of their wedding. It quickly became clear that they hadn’t, and Ollie is now dating someone else from the experiment.
Demi was insistent Ollie was a good guy, but just not right for her, and said she learned to love herself along the journey. However, Ollie has said things between them were edited highly by Netflix, to always make Demi look good, and him bad.
In an interview after the reunion, he said: “What you’re seeing on screen lasted three maybe five minutes, in reality it was probably more 10-15 minutes. They cut that right down. She [Demi] actually got a positive edit in my opinion, because in reality that went on for a lot longer and yeah, I’m not trying to throw her under the bus but she was like, poking me and her hand was in my face.”
He continued: “I don’t want to go into it too much because I’m a big boy and it’s done but it’s like it’s annoyed me that that got taken as me being defensive.” He said Demi spent a lot of time in their relationship “poking the bear.”
He then went on to talk more about his new relationship with Sharlotte, and said Netflix missed out a lot of context there, too. Ollie explained they had dated in the pods, and had “a strong connection right until the end” and he had to break things off with her.
“She was very upset,” he said. “In fact, she was so upset she left the experiment that moment.” He said that when he first saw Sharlotte outside the pods, which would have been when he was still with Demi, he thought she was “beautiful” and his “head was spun for a bit”.
People in the comments are now begging we’d seen more of Ollie’s connection with Sharlotte. “Man, context is everything. They really should have shown more of Sharlotte and Ollie,” one person said. Whereas others just think Ollie is saying his piece now because Demi was the one who turned him down. One person added: “Ollie let it go man. Demi said no, she’s moved on, so have we, you should too.”
