Netflix true crime series American Murder is currently looking into the heartbreaking Laci Peterson case. Despite to this day claiming his innocence, her husband Scott Peterson has been jailed for killing her and their unborn son. One of the people who became pivotal in the evidence against Scott was Amber Frey, who came forward at the time to tell police she too had been dating him.

Laci Peterson’s case is widely called one of the most infamous in true crime history, after the seemingly happy and bubbly woman was reported missing on Christmas Eve of 2002, whilst eight months pregnant with her first child.

Amber Frey was interviewed in American Murder on Netflix, and spoke about how at the time, she had been dating Scott Peterson for a number of months. He had told her he was unmarried, and had recently “lost” his wife, alluding to her having passed away. He later admitted he had a wife, and that she was then missing person, Laci Peterson. Amber helped the police by wiring her phone calls to Scott, and sharing all the details of their relationship.

Amber was branded a “mistress” by some, but soon it was clear how pivotal she became in the evidence against Scott Peterson. Laci’s friends are also interviewed in the Netflix doc, and recalled how they thanked Amber for all she had done in the efforts to solve their friend’s case.

In early 2003, Laci Peterson’s body and that of her unborn son Conner were found at San Francisco Bay. Her husband Scott was then arrested on a golf course in April that year. Scott was found guilty and initially sentenced to death, but upon an appeal had his sentence changed to life without parole.

Where is Amber Frey now?

Since the trial, Amber Frey has continued to live in Fresno, California. She is now 49, has two children, and lives a pretty normal life considering everything.

She wrote a book about her experience, titled Witness: For the Prosecution of Scott Peterson, and according to Distractify, she once owned a spa in central California called Euphoria Day Spa. It looks as though that has since closed down.

In 2006 she got married to a police officer called Robert Hernandez, but it’s been reported they divorced two years later. It’s since been said she is in a new relationship, with a man called Bradley.

According to her Instagram, Amber is currently an ambassador for Bucked Up, a workout supplement and gym wear brand. She’s also listed on LinkedIn as a health services assistant.

In her free time it looks as though she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, going to the gym, going to bars, and spending her weekends getting outdoors or going to festivals.
