Don’t even try to be coy, you’ve 100 per cent seen *that* viral Olympics video of the pole vaulter whose, let’s just say bulge, knocked down the pole and meant he missed out on a medal. He might have lost out on the gold but I think that man has probably become the most eligible bachelor in the Olympic Village.

21 year old pole vaulter Anthony Ammiriati from France attempted to clear 5.70 metres on the vault during his Olympics round on Saturday, but a combination of his knee and his bulge quite literally got in the way.

Following his disqualification he told the French Athletics Federation: “I’m a bit gutted, because I didn’t miss anything on the third attempt at 5.70 m. What I did miss was a bit of jumping in training to fine-tune the settings. Just a technical session. I was 100 per cent physically, but I was missing a bit of pole vault. The conditions were good. It’s the first time I’ve started a competition without any stress. As I was a total outsider, I only had one goal: to interact with the audience. I was almost there.”
