He’s one of the oldest members of December 10, so let’s meet the vibey boyband member Sean
His talent was clocked super early
He’s 19, he’s from Dublin, and he’s already living every choir kid’s wildest dream.
Sean Hayden is one of the older members of Simon Cowell’s new Netflix-formed boyband, December 10, and low-key feels like an icon of the group.
We’ve watched him go from shy auditionee to front-and-centre on Simon Cowell: The Next Act, the docuseries that follows Cowell’s search for a modern boyband.
Between his opera-choir past, his soft-boy energy and that record deal with EMI/Universal, there’s a lot more to Sean than just cute harmonies and a cosy hoodie.

Sean Hayden is a 19-year-old singer from Dublin, Ireland, and the lone Irish member of December 10.
Speaking on the show, he said: “Every successful boyband needs an Irish man, or else they’ve failed already.”
He joined the seven-piece boyband on Simon Cowell: The Next Act, which filmed open auditions in London, Dublin and Liverpool before flying shortlisted teens to Miami for intense bootcamp rounds.
In the final line-up, Sean stands alongside Cruz, Danny, Hendrik, John, Josh and Nicolas, all still in their teens, with the group signed to EMI/Universal and debuting with a cover of *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye.”
The band name December 10 is a nod to the date the Netflix docuseries dropped. People have already shortened it to D10 because of course they have.
He’s considered one of the older lads in the band at 19, and that little bit of extra life experience, plus his performance background gives him a quietly confident vibe onscreen, think calm, slightly sensible older brother energy, but still very much a chaos-with-the-boys merchant when they’re together.
Speaking in episode four, Sean said: “You have to have a bit of self-confidence. The competition is so high, if you’re not believing in yourself, who are you believing in? If you’re thinking ‘I might go home today’, you might go home!”
How Sean’s singing dream started

Sean’s story basically starts in the living room.
He’s said he was singing around the house in Dublin from when he was about four, obsessed with pop acts like Justin Bieber, very ‘hairbrush as a mic’ era, per Goss.ie.
His family clocked pretty quickly that this wasn’t just cute kid noise. And, with their encouragement, he ended up in serious musical circles surprisingly young.
He joined a choir and went on to sing soprano for the Irish National Opera in Dublin. Yes, that boy you’re watching on Netflix used to hit the very high notes in full classical mode!
That training meant learning discipline, blending with other voices and performing in big venues.
The big plot twist? Sean only auditioned for The Next Act because his mum put his name down when she saw the casting call.
He’s talked about going along mostly to make her proud, not really expecting anything. Then suddenly, he’s one of seven boys Simon chooses out of more than a thousand hopefuls. On the show, Sean comes across as genuinely grateful but quietly ambitious.
He credits Simon Cowell with teaching them little pro tricks, like always shaking everyone’s hand and making eye contact when you walk into a room. He says he trusts Simon’s big vision for the band even if the boys can’t fully see it yet.
What does he want next? Not just fame and bangers. Sean’s reportedly said he hopes the band stay close, “become best mates,” and end up being best men at each other’s weddings, which is very wholesome.
So if you’re picking a fave December 10 member, Sean is the one for you if you like golden-retriever energy, serious pipes, and a backstory that started in a Dublin choir loft and somehow landed on a Netflix global stage.
