UK unis dishing out discounts and vouchers to students who apply through clearing in 2026
£5,000 off accommodation? Netflix subscriptions? £1,000 for food?
Did you expect to be spending A-Level Results Day 2026 begging universities to take you through clearing? Honestly, it sounds like many UK universities will be begging you to choose them. So many UK unis are offering extra incentives to people who apply through clearing in 2026, such as huge discounts on accommodation, vouchers for technology, free gym memberships, and even Deliveroo Plus subscriptions.
UAL has a ‘special offer’ on halls
If you commit to the University of the Arts London (UAL), and book a room in their recently-refurbished The Costume Store halls, you can save £500 on rent.
The University of Bath is discounting fees
Overseas students who apply through clearing in 2026 qualify for the International Welcome Award, which is essentially a £1,500 discount on first-year tuition fees.
Bournemouth Uni will slash your rent by £2,000
Through the BU Clearing Support Fund, Bournemouth will reduce your rent in their halls of residence by £2,000.
Coventry University is offering discounts on student accom

If you choose Coventry Uni through clearing, and you apply for accom between 13th August and 31 August, you can get up to £585 off the rent of particular en-suite rooms at Bishop Gate, The Cycle Works and Godiva Place student halls. Bishop Gate halls are especially modern – they have a TV room, a gym and a games room with a ping-pong table.
There a vouchers a-plenty at the University of East London (UEL)
Freshers who join through clearing can nab a “£1,000 First Year Support Package“. This consists of a £400 voucher for groceries, a £100 voucher for entertainment, a £400 cash payment for travel, and a one-year premium student gym membership at UEL SportsDock, which usually costs £120.
The University of Gloucestershire has a ‘£5,000 clearing package’
This uni is advertising its “£5,000 UoG Clearing Package“. The first 50 students who sign up to Uni of Gloucestershire courses through clearing will get £5,000 off accommodation in Pitville Student Village. If you live at home, you can have a complimentary parking permit instead. The uni will also cover the cost of students’ first society membership, which is quite cute.

The University of Kent is dishing out cash and food
Fancy joining the country’s first “super-university”? The uni is handing new students £1,000 of cash, and £1,000 to spend on food and drink at cafes and canteens on campus. Freshers also get a free gym membership.

Join Roehampton Uni through 2026 clearing, and you’ll get a choice of three perks. Students can either claim £500 off uni accom, or a £500 tech voucher, or a “student life reward package” that includes subscriptions to Amazon Prime, Deliveroo Plus, FutureLearn Unlimited and Netflix.
