A deep dive into what the hell is going on with the 27-year-old ‘stalking’ Peter Pan at Disneyland

A woman who has since been dubbed the “Peter Pan girl” is being slammed on TikTok for repeatedly “harassing” the actors playing Peter Pan at Disneyland.

We already know that the internet doesn’t have much love for Disney adults, and there are dozens of examples: The cosplayer who was escorted off the property, the woman who demanded an apology from Loose Women, and the person who legally changed their last name to “Mouse” are but a few instances of grown adults taking things too far.

Who is the ‘Peter Pan girl’ on TikTok?

The “Peter Pan girl” is actually called Toni (@babytoni99), and she has nearly 7k followers on Instagram and almost 70k on TikTok. All of her content is around Disney, whether that be Marvel, princesses, or the events they host at Disney locations.

But specifically, she has a deep fascination with Peter Pan, the lost boy who is permanently around 12 to 14 years old.

In terms of content, she often records her many (many) interactions with Peter at the park, so much so that you can see the actors changing over the years. She goes to Disneyland at least once a week, but first met Peter over a decade ago.

Why are people weirded out?

It doesn’t take a lot for people to be turned off from Disney adult content, but in the case of Toni, it’s largely down to her obsession with Peter Pan. She posts content like they’re a couple, and confesses to trying to kiss him when she’s giving him handmade gifts.

In her more long-form videos, where she’s having full-on conversations with Peter Pan, people have claimed you can see how uncomfortable he is. In one video, she legit chased him across the park whilst skipping.

Another criticism is that Peter Pan is technically a child, but it’s more important to remember that the actor playing him is an adult.

Largely, it’s ignited a conversation around these parasocial relationships that we create with fictional or famous characters. Safety concerns have been raised, but as of yet, nothing has been reported to suggest it’s a major issue in Disney’s or the actor’s eyes.

Amidst all the drama, with some editing Toni’s footage to look like a horror film, there are a bunch of completely fabricated moments out there.

One fake element is Toni being banned from Disneyland, which just isn’t the case. Some have claimed it’s a lifetime ban, and some have suggested it’s much shorter at two weeks. Either way, both claims are completely false.

Another example is the stuffed toy that Toni gifted Peter Pan in one of her viral videos. People have used AI to place an AirTag in the toy to suggest that Toni is literally tracking the object of her affections. Again, it’s completely false.

Though I won’t make excuses for Disney adults or their behaviour, the story is quickly spiralling out of control and becoming something it’s not.

Toni and Disneyland have been approached for comment.
