Actress Jenna Ortega has repeatedly been spotted with Danish musician Elias Rønnenfelt, and many of her supporters are upset. Here’s everything there is to know about the controversial figure.

Elias Rønnenfelt is the frontman of Iceage, a punk rock band from Copenhagen. The 34-year-old has been spotted with Jenna Ortega multiple times, including in a video where he is seen with his arm around her. After these viral videos and pictures, Jenna Ortega’s supporters have been deep-diving into some of Elias’ biggest scandals.

Elias Rønnenfelt has apologised for racism after neo-Nazi accusations

In some art made for Iceage when Elias was 18 years old, he drew symbols connected to neo-Nazis and fascists. In an interview with Pitchfork, he admitted he was in the wrong.

“When a lot of these allegations came out, we were dumbfounded,” he said. “Now I understand that we hold a responsibility on our shoulders to make it clear what we stand for.”

He claimed that he copied the symbols from an 80s film called Roller Blade, and didn’t understand their political significance, or the offence they could cause.

Elias continued: “What some people took from it was not our intent. I hope that it’s very clear, and I think it is for anybody who has followed us, that we are most definitely not right-wing and we don’t have any sympathies or leanings to that side.”

He also apologised for platforming a band with a very racist name

Another one of Iceage’s scandals is inviting a band called White N****** to a festival they curated. In the same Pitchfork interview, he admitted that Iceage were definitely behind the platforming of this offensive band.

“There’s no way of excusing this,” Elias started. “They weren’t a band that had ever played before. They were some people that we knew were active in Antifa activism. I don’t know what the f*ck their intent was with that [band name].”

Elias added: “I f*cking deeply regret that we failed to speak up there and prevent it, and that we failed to see how f*cked up and harmful having a band… I’m embarrassed to have shared a stage with a band with that name.”

The musician claimed he thought the band name was a political point and meant to be provocative, but in a progressive way.

Jenna Ortega hasn’t confirmed or denied that she and Elias are dating
